i picked up one of these bad boys recently and went right to work with it!

popping it onto the charger, the first charge only took about 15 minutes since the pack had some voltage in it for obvious reasons...

first impression of the thing is that it's terribly light! my car feels so much lighter with this battery than when compared to Gp3300s!

I'm running a HPI pro4 and this matters so much to me since the L to R balance of the car is inheritly off by design. with this battery strapped in, the *motor* side actually then becomes slightly heavier!

Road test:

i set the car down, gave it full wood and it instantly spun all four wheels and sped off! the car can constantly spin it's tires all the way to WOT while running grippy, belted tires!

I can easily have all 4 tires spinning at tremendous speed while cornering inducing a power slide on pavement just as you would see a WRC car do!

the thing hits top speed in a much, much shorter distance and feels like i have an extra cell! not only that, but i'm absolutely positive that with the top end i am now getting, it's comparable to a 19t motor (i am only running a 27t), while being able to accelerate like the car was shot out from a sling shot.

Due to the dramatic weight reduction from the battery, my old suspension setup had to be totally readjusted. the car used to be quite neutral, and was able to have the rear end step out when throttle was added mid-corner. now with this battery inside, there isnt enough weight to cause the rear end to step out!

i'm totally impressed with this battery pack. the car feels totally different, and run times seem endless. i'm sure that i can get full power through out the entire pack. no more battery dumping, it just goes and goes for the entire duration.

Test car setup:

trinity MS2 27t motor
front spool
hpi pro compound x-pattern belted tires

i can say with confidence that this is the best modification that i've done to the car so far! i've gone brushless, matched pack/whatever/whatever. this battery alone yeilded the most dramatic performance gain.

although i don't have the scorpions i have to agree with you on the performance gain of lipo packs in general... they're just faster in every way period... add brushless and you'll wonder why everyone is not running out to get one...

They're either just straight up too cheap or can't afford it.

it was 135 for the battery and 85 for the charger.
then u'll need a power supply that can dish out 10 amps

Nice review, thanks. Too bad the batt isn't in the center?? haha

All my batts are in the middle or have 2 balanced out on monster trucks. I can't wait. Just have to get the money.

On the contrary there are brushless/lipo sytems out there that are cheaper than brushed/NiMd.

ya... my mtronics pro/380c-7t combo was a lot cheaper that my brushed setup... when you add in the constant comm cutting and brushes... the gap gets even wider... i've spent my last penny on nimh or brushed motors... i don't care if i can't race at sanctioned events...

Using 4S would be proper voltage. I am running evx's on 23 volts.

Hey, don't accuse me of being an adult. I try my hardest to be as un-adult as possible and then someone says this? :p

I have some friends with the kokam 3200 7.4 packs. I will compare with my tanics although I think the tanics will come out on top.
