Hi,
I'm just a basher and would like to show you my B4's setup:

motor: feigao 380C - 9T (thanks to starluck for providing me..... ;) )
esc: MAMBA - - yes, the great mamba-25 esc !!! only added a 6800 microfarad capacitor
battery: 2cell 7,4 volt lipo Polyquest 2500 XP
pinion/spur:18/84

Now, the car is only 1300 grams ready-to-run and is really funny and driveable.............even over short grass it seems to fly.............top speed is enough......it's better to have just the the power that allows traction control........isn't it :D :D
last but not least, runtime is about 15-20 min with above setup.......
enjoy the photos.......

Nice setup. I guess if you want more power you can always bump up to 3s. Looks like a great setup to race with.

you're right.......actually I'm thinking about trying the 3s, just I'm not sure the mamba esc will survive with such a power......
however, by now after 15-20 minutes running continously (by using 2s), the esc is totally cool.......good sign.... ;) ;)

i would still use a mtroniks genesis rather than the mamber the small increase in weight is more than outwighed by its much better power handling and smoothness.

That's awesome that you can use the Mamba controller! If it stays cool after a run like that, then obviously you aren't doing anything too bad, and IMO, it is fine to run with.

Very cool. Guess castle really over rates their stuff then huh? :D How many amps, about, can a 380C 9T pull? I imagine not a lot if it can be used on the mamba.

To get 15mins of runtime on a 2500mah pack, that would mean an average amp draw of 10amps!

I can believe it, in a light buggy..in my T3 on my 380 9t I get 9-10 mins race time out my 6 month old 6 cell GP3300's. Its not astonishing performance, but enough for an indoor track.

no way, the mamba 25 runs the 380c 9t motor?! are u serious? that's crazy!

how long have u had this setup for, and are u running it under heavy load? (ie: in sand/gravel?)

if u are then.......shoot, i'm gonna use my mamba esc too :D

He must have some low gearing to be getting such runtime. This would definitely help in keeping the Mamba cool.

I ran my mamba 25 with 3s lipo in my tc4 which is much higher amp draws. It ran okay, but kinda warm. The powerhandling is not there for higher power setups like T4 or TC4. B4 with short gearing and on dirt track would be okay I guess. When using small lipos. they can't give out 50 amps so the mamba 25 is able to handle small weak lipos. but put some big HD lipos or 3s or 4s on it and you'll probably burn out the Mamba.

.........exactly.... :)
I have 18/84 pinion/spur which get 12:1 total transmission ratio

average current consumption is below 10 A; I have run the car over dirt track, gravel (not sand, yet :o ), and even on grass; in this last case, climbing long path over short grass (so motor stress..... ;) ) and the driveability was excellent, probably due to the lightweight car........
however, the esc, motor and even battery stay cool...... (lipo Polyquest XP 2500 performs very very well......)
Best thing is that absolutely NO COGGING at all....... :p :p from start to end of runtime........the only mod I've done is adding a 6800 microfarad capacitor to mamba.....
maybe I've cought the perfect "mix" for running flawlessly...... :D .....maybe....
running test will continue.... ;)

p.s. have a look at the photos link......do you agree with the throttle curve...??

that's good news... i have the mamba and a 380c 7t... i might try to put into my b3 with my TP2100 3s lipos and see what it does... do you guys think the 7t is too much or will it be ok since the battery is small...

abiye, that setup would be a bad choice. The motor will overrev on 3s Lipo (causing more amps to be pulled and a possibility of destroying the motor). Besides that, it would be too hot for the Mamba. The 9t that leomax is using pulls fewer amps than a 7t would.

your probably right.... i'll keep the mamba in the minis
