I have a relatively new nitro truck... and I want to get it dirty. Unfortunately, I haven't found any information about places to run with others that are outside of mall parking lots.
Does anyone know of any places to run that are safe for fast trucks in the area??
Thanks!
Try ThunderAlley in Wilson or Rosewood in/near Goldsboro. There is also Sandhills in Vass. Not many other places close to Raleigh.

Thanks for the info jtn...
Hm, those are all a bit far and don't appear to have any open track times.
Anyone know of any people that get together to run around on dirt local (ie- Wake Cty) for fun??
I live in Erwin, it only takes about 40 mins to get to the track in Rosewood.
You should check it out.

Its in Charlotte , about a 2 hour ride for you , but one of the best offroad tracks ive seen..
Another one of the best is The Badlands
http://www.thebadlands3.com/
Its near Mytle Beach (not close to Raleigh) but definatley worth the trip if your into offroad..

I live north of Raleigh in Granville county.
I am always looking for new places to run.
What trucks do you run, and are you looking for a track or a place to bash??
I run right now :
MGT
Savage
Mayhem
and I have a Revo, but I think I am going to sell it. It is pretty much new, and I like the MGT too much. haha

ps.
I have my own little "club", but we haven't run in a while. Some of my "club" members run a lot. haha I try to get down to run with them as often as possible.

Since it is winter time, I don't know how many outdoor tracks are still racing, but alot of racers from your area are making the trip to CRCC that is a big indoor offroad track in Charlotte, NC with a full racing schedule from Wednesday Night to Saturday and Sunday Racing.
Here is the link: www.charlotterccenter.com
Check the Calender for races or just come and practice when there is not a race. Remember with this crazy winter weather, it is hard to find a nice dry warm day to race outdoors where the track is even dry enough to run on and indoors is hard to beat when guaranteeing you get to run!
Also a full service Hobby shop on site and open when the track is 6 days a week.
CRCC is hosting one of the National Pro Series Races and a Carolina's Point Series Race in 2006!
Check out CRCC, you will be glad you did!

Sorry guys! I've been out of town and buried in trying to finish up graduate school.
I am still here, but unfortunately, aside from just getting out and banging around with my truck, I am going to be unable to do anything in a while. (but on a good note, I should be done with my phd in 6 weeks!)
I'm still keeping an eye out for a site that would work for smoothing out and just playing on... and with this weather, it would be a nice time to get out for a couple of hours.

So... I have a site that works well for just playing around in. Its big enough, and no one has said anything about my presence there. The problem is the debris all over. Its a cleared dirt area right across from the fairgrounds in Raleigh, part of the NCSU vet school property (people park in it during the state fair). It has alot of random sticks and rocks on it, but for the most part its wide open.
I've only somersaulted the truck a few times due to terrain. :)

I live in Northern Granville county.. but it doesn't take me long to get down to the creedmoor or franlkinton area.
I used to live in Creedmoor and I work in RTP.
Let me know if you want to get together and bash.
I have a club, but we aren't that active.
One of the guys has a track, but it is a kidney shaped flat track. It has some bank to it now, and they are supposed to be adding jumps soon.
I would rather find a place with some hills and bumps to jump around and bash some.
I have orange cones.. if I want to race, I just set them up.
