Hi.. I noticed alot of you guys are running the novak speed controls..Can the new novak speed controls for the brushless system use Li-po batteries or do you have to use nimh batteries. Thx in advance..I just getting back into r/c again after a few years away.

A 2s lipo pack is 7.4V nominal and 8.4V fully charged so that is fine.
A 3s 11.1V is not recomended. Maybe Charlie can give you the ok on that one. :)

If you do use 2s Lipo, you need to make sure to use a LVC device. This will prevent the cells from dropping below 3volts each.

Where can you buy a Low voltage cutoff if your esc doesn't have one like the GTB?

Lots of places carry them. The important thing is that they cut off at a minimum of 3v/cell. Here's one:

fmadirect also sells one which works well.

and if you're a DIYer, then you can build one - very in expensively.

I've seen that before and I was just about to try it but I couldn't find that plastic circuit board to help organize it on. Does anyone know where I could find one like they used? http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=229562

How much runtime do you get with 2 lipos? in the GTB?

That depends almost completely on the capacity of the pack, as well as the motor choice, gearing, traction, the actual ability of the cells, etc.

Well generally is it alot more than for example a 3600 pack? What if i have a bk2 my final drive ratio is 11.5 and i have the gtb 5.5? Would i get substantially more runtime than a 3600 3700 or 3800 nimh pack or just a little?

That depends on the capacity of the battery. FYI, Lipos aren't ROAR legal.
