hey guys I have a question. I just finished building pro4 with a novak super sport brushless.
Everything went ok until I installed the system.
It seems like when I squeez the throttle the goes in reverse.
I have checked all the connectors and wires and everything looks good. I even checked the transmiter setting.
Is the motor running backwards ?
Did anyone else have this problem?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks guys.

For sensorless systems if this happens all you need to do is switch two of the cables leading to the motor around. I believe this would have the same effect with sensored, but its best you check your manual before doing so.

why don't you reverse your throttle on your transmitter ;)

That's odd. If you were shortening wires from the ESC to the motor, it's possible you could've put one wire where another was supposed to go. Make sure that A, B, and C from the ESC line up with A, B, and C on the motor. If that doesn't work, then you probably got a defective (weird kinda defective too) system. Another tip, try programming it again, it may or may not help.

I used it on my xxx-s and it worked fine.
I've checked my transmiter and tried reversing and un-reversing but no luck.
Would I possibly damage anything by switching the wiring config?
Thanks for the help guys.

DONT SWITCH THE WIRES. MAKE SURE THEY GO A TO A, B TO B, AND C TO C. Do you use a different radio in your XXXS?

no, same radio and receiver.
I dont know what is going on.
It works fine in the xxx-s, but runs backward on the pro4.
I might have to check the wiring again.
thanks.

pull the motor out of the car and see if it rotates in the correct direction (clockwise with the output shaft pointing at you). Maybe you somehow got the Pro 4 put together backwards? I did that on my E-maxx, but I didn't think it was possible on the pro4.

I was just looking at some pics of the Pro-4 and it does look like you can build the gear boxes backwards. Maybe want to check that.

you are absolutely right. I went home and double checked the diff.
Diff was placed in reverse. Now I feel like a jackass. :p
Problem is solved.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Well atleast it was a cheap solution... lol.

Hey don't feel bad at all. Once a week I get one of those from a Customer. Happens all the time in the Emaxx also. The Diffs go both ways.

I was at the track once, and a Guy called me over. Took me like 30 minutes to test all his electronics and motor then when I put it all in the car, I imediately saw the problem. This was with a Tamiya EVO3. The diffs will fit backwards as well.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SWITCH NOVAK BRUSHLESS SYSTEM WIRING AROUND. NOVAK SYSTEMS CANNOT BE MADE REVERSE ROTATION. YOU WILL BURN UP THE ESC VIRTUALLY IMEDIATLY.

ooook guess that cleared that up. What is the effect when you reverse motor cables on a sensored system? I presume it fires the wrong coils and causes the motor to complete a short circuit or something?
