Just as I opened the package, I noticed two things peculiar about this pack, one of which worries me. First, you should know that the openings of the heat shrink run parallel to the lenght of the pack. That's normal. The strange part is the fact that the power wires come out of one corner of the pack, then run along the side of the pack and go back underneath the heatshrink again. Basically, 7 inches of wire are useless and only 2.5 inches of wire stick out. I can unsolder the deans and re-route the wires, but this is just something to take note of. It makes you wonder.

The socond thing worries me slightly. The plastic metalic looking sleeves have a few minor dents and scratches in them and are a bit buckled at the end when the heatshrink meets. I know that these aren't the actual cells. The actual cells look fine underneath, but looks like this pack may have been banged around before it was completely assembled, since some of the dents lie underneath the wires and/or the edge of the heatshrink. I would think that kokam checks their packs for damage before they ship them out.

I hope these peculiarities that I pointed out aren't related to the condition of the actual cells. The good news is that pack reads 11.5 volts, which is the proper voltage.

Ask if you need a pic.

I got mine today too( from your suggestion in another post). Mine isn't like you describe though. The openings of the wrap are on each end of the pack. The wires are coming out of the corner but are soldered to a board right on the end of the pack. The wires are like TEN inches long with a deans on the end? Mine may be a different pack. It is Kokam cells, with red wrap and has Cellpro and FMA direct on the label. I got mine from Hobby Lobby. It doesn't look like the pack it shows in the pic on the site. The balancing connector has six inches of wire. Mine is reading 11.466 V, probably because of the super long wires LOL.

I'm going to cut the wire back and put a sermos connector on it anyway. Don't know what I'm going to do with the balancing connector wire though. Sorry I don't have a camera for pics.

I think I'm going to love this pack though, it fits nice.

I've been using those 20c 3200 Kokams for about 9mths in 2s, 3s and 4s. At the time they were not available with the special taps. I've built the 4s using 2+2s packs.

The dimensions are just right!

Mine is the same pack as yours (cellpro), but heatshrink is different. Well I went ahead and re-routed/shortened the wires. I haven't charged or discharged it yet.

It should be fine. As long as the pack isn't puffed (you would most likely notice this), then everything is fine. That's what's funny about Lipos. You can have a bent cell, and as long as it hasn't puffed, you can use it (but watch it carefully). I have gotten dents in my cells from one thing or another, and those have not contributed to the failure of a cell. So, go ahead and charge it!

Well I just charged I only did a few passes since it was wet outside. Actually, I wasn't able to use anything more than half throttle. At 60% throttle it would start hydro-planing and spin around in circles like a hockey puck. Way faster than before and the tires instantly balloon by about an inch when throttle is applied. Thanks for clearing my worries about the dents in the pack tcolesen.

More about my setup will come as soon as I get the chance. I will be on vaccation for the next few days. Hopefully I will be able to bring my car to the track in palm desert if suitcase space/time allows.
