The LST2 is the way to go. It fix's most all of the problems with the LST, and comes wiht a reciever pack. If you get a LST you will end up spending more to get it up to par with the LST2.
I have a LST I have put over $250 into for hop ups, and its still not as nice as a LST2.

Okay but how strong is it , like could you easily break it if you drive 40+ and hit a curb or would that pretty much ruin any rc , bad example , but like if you go endo or hit the rear and land solid would that majorly damage it ?

I dont think theres anything RC, or full size that you can drive 40 into a curb and not hurt somthing. The LST2 should be pretty durable. I have RPM arms, alu diff cases, alloy wheel hexes, alu "c" hubs, and RPM gear cover, on my LST. It is pretty durable now. These are all things the LST2 comes with as well as bigger axles, CVDs, 23mm hexes. I bash my truck pretty hard, if I make it over a jump, I look for a bigger one. I've had it land flat from over 12' several times and come away ok.

But if you really want to beat the crap out of it, I'd recomend a Savage. Its not as fast, and dosn't handle as well, but it can take a beating.

Get the lst2. Just broke mine in yesterday and it is killer fast. The lst was good, it just had too many durability issues. Just like 9guy9 said all of these issues were fixed on the lst2.

LST2. They don't even make the LST any more. And also the hexes are 20mm not 23mm.

You know the bank that goes off the side walk people with BMX bikes use to bunny hop off them , you can sort-of use them for skate board ramps or rc ramp rest . Oh and I am going with the savage cause I do want a truck I can beat up .

And who said you can't beat up a LST2,

Mine and my bros savage repair costs go heavy in the 4 digits $$$$,
2 MONTH OLD TRUCKS!!!!

Savage = SLOW + CANNOT HANDLE FOR CRAP!!! i own 1
you need to upgrade just about everything to make them perform, and yet a lst2 seems to still blow past them!!!
i have had to do heaps to my savage to make it do anything.
yeah they are tough. but try and keeps the diffs in order, BAD DESIGN!!
both me and my bro ALWAYS rebuilding diffs, have you ever pulled down a savage, LOTS OF WORK
go with a LST2 i am.
just look at it, it handles 110% better = more air control = better landings = no broken truck!
they come with everything you could need.
HPI give you a crap AM radio.
Team Losi give you a half decent FM radio,

Savage comes with no battery pack, no reverse, plastic diffs. SH*T AM radio that glitches all the time!!!
i mean seriously i could keep going and going savage is a good truck but dam they are also a menace at the same time. you make one part stronger the next just gets weaker, never ending story!
Don't get me wrong savage owners, cos i am 1, but the savage is getting old!
HPI's answer to the ageing savage = savage X, well, NOT IMPRESSED. it really is still a heavy bad handling slug of a basher, but with WEAK new suspension arms.
MOVE OVER SAVAGE, LST2 is here to take the throne!!!
might break more might break less, but i'm dam sure i don't want to pull another savage down again!
LST2 looks simple to work on, PLUS go into a LHS, grab a savage and a lst2 put them next to each other on the counter, compare them, i did,

LST2, was lighter, bigger, SHOCKS WORKED AWESOME,
VERY balanced in weight, and looks professional
Get the worker to do a drop test for you, LST2 was great from 5 foot
very smooth.

SAVAGE, was its usual lump of a toy truck.
went crunch on the drop test,
mine don't but ive changed a few things,
i did a drop test with mine when it was new, 5 foot, cracked a wheel, and got a leaky shock!!! and it landed good,

Don't get me wrong, i love my savage but dam there are better out now.

some pics and vids of my savage, will be some lst2 pics and vids hopefully next week.

Sorry guys, just fedup with this lump of junk they call *SAVAGE* it is savage on your bank account that's for sure!!

But honestly you need to upgrade soooo much to get a performer out of a savage.

ALL JUST MY OPINION NO FLAME PLZ

damn slw4red y all the savage bashing. mine has been cheap and fun.anyway go with the lst2 almost all the problems the lst had has been fixed the lst2 is alot more durable then the lst. go to lst central to read about the truck. i did about a week of reading there and i plan on getting one in about two weeks. i like the lst beacuse it is really a all around MONSTER truck. it can bash with savages and race with revos. people tried to talk me into the revo but i wasnt having it. dont want to deal with traxxas engines, bad radio and i like torque.

I'm just sick of reading savage this and savage that, savage is better than this etc,
people need to move over and let some new trucks through,
give them a chance.
I get my LST2 this weekend.
i read alot on lst central aswell there has been a great improvement over lst1,
The LST2 is an all round GREAT truck,
the only thing savage really has going for it is the fact it takes a beating,
It's not fast nor does it handle, whats the good in it? run into tree's all day.
in its day it was the bomb though.

Just stay away from CEN Genesis!!!

Ya i have an lst2. i shopped and researched for a very long time before buyin. if you do the research and your choice is not the lst2 your a dummy! in my book the hi\low transmission is what puts this truck above all the others. mine has takin a beating and still wont break which sucks cause i want to put all alumn on it. the only thing i gotta say bout the savage is that it will always be better than a traxxas any day; but thats not hard!
