Highland R/C Racers is forming the 2006 schedule for Parking Lot racing in Asheville. We will be racing twice a month when the weather gives us a break.
Touring Cars, minis, anything that we have at least 2 of... bring them on out and run with us.
Track set up is typically 40 feet by 90 feet, on fresh asphalt with great traction, and low tire wear.

Maury,
Most of us are using 19 turn motors although there is no real motor restrictions at this point. Stock associated tires have worked well for me, most use a tire in the medium range, not as soft as they use in Easley. As for car types, there are a handfull of TC3s, a TC4, several HPI RS4s, and a couple of Tamiyas that show up on a regular basis.... and the Tamiyas seem to do pretty well here.
The asphalt is smooth, so its easy on tires, but still has very good bite! (except when its cold, then everyone is at the same disadvantage for a couple laps....)
We are looking at a 60'x120' track layout for 2006. We had been running a 40'x90' layout last season.
This is a grassroots club, so the rules are pretty relaxed, the object is to have fun!

and Maury....
if you come, bring a pit table, and an extension cord. There is limited power available, and plenty of room to pit, just no tables. If its sunny, shade is a problem, plenty of shade a few steps away from the track, most of us use a canopy. We use a computer to score the races, but use manual keyboard input for now, no transponders.

Reggie,
We use LapsFree by www.rctiming.com
We do use manual imput (by keyboard) rather than use transponders, it works quite well. Gives all the individual lap data for each driver.
