Hello. I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the game series, Descent, but I ask about a physics problem. I want to model the Pyro GX, but I am not certain if it is possible. Attached is an image of the ship. What do you think?

Gee, there doesn't seem to be much of a lifting surface other than the fuselage. But on the other hand, with enough power :)

lol, i spose its possible, but itll probably take a lot longer than normal, and leave off the wingtip objects(cannons? )

Oooo....

A lot of either styrofoam or depron could make that possible! :) And I'd-a made the wings maybe 20 to 50% bigger, and given them a lot less anherdral. Probably the most important thing to keep in mind is to build it light and with adequate power. Maybe a couple of ducted fans coupled to brushless outrunners, and a potent package of Li-po cells, and you're airborne. Just make sure the fans can suck enough air, the original openings aren't enough so cheater holes has to be cut.

Bear in mind that the design as you see it, is a dog in the air when flying sunny side up. A straight(er) wing will smoothen out the caracteristics. Also, I totally agree in what zairegates says, leave off all the fancy stuff that just creates weight and drag.

Do you have any plans for this ship? I'm sure more than me would like to follow the progress of your project if/when you start it. This is absolutely a challenge worth taking, and a great achievement when you make it fly. Good luck my friend, and please keep us posted!

But the lighter the brick, the better it flies!
