I am going to get a robinson clutch.. But it has a 54 tooth spur... I dont want to change the gearing....... Can I just go down 2 teeth on the clutch bell to correct it??? More teeth on spur gives more bottom end?? less teeth on bell gives more top end right?? Its been awhile ........ Thanks

You have the spur right but the clutch bell is the oposite, less teeth = less top speed. more teeth on the bell = more top speed. As far as the spur, I doubt you will even notice much difference going to the 54 tooth. One or two teeth on the spur doesn't affect gear ratio nearly as much as one or two teeth on the bell. I would try it with the stock bell and if it seems to low then go up one tooth on the bell. Hope this helps.
