i have some left over holiday money and i thought i should uuse on my maxx. help me decide on wat to get it. it's fairly stock except it has a trx 2.5r, FOC, and a better brake disk, and a tuned pipe. should i get the hot bodies shock set from tower for $70 or should i get some aluminum bulkheads. maybe i should upgrade the steering servo for like $40.

plz help me decide

edit- i use this truck for bashing, so making it strong would be a plus

edit#2- should i get front and rear aluminum bulkheads for 50 and aluminum bumper f&r for 20, all this from rc boyz

im not familiar with how the tmaxx is setup, but you dont want the bulk heads to be the weak spot. so if you have a plastic chassis and alum bulks, the chassis will just strip out then. Lots easier to replace couple $ bulk. just my 2 cents.

the chassis is aluminum, so if i have front and rear aluminum bulkheads and bumpers, would this make the truck withstand most crashes

$70 Hmm what would I get? I would sell the 2.5 engine for a quick $70 then buy an OS .18 CVR (more power than the stocker) this engine costs $99 shipped. So now where down to $40.00----> Hmmm what else would I get? I know, i would one front aluminum Bulkhead (25.00), and one Rear alum Diff case (20.00), or if you don't want the case I would substitute it with a proline T-maxx servo savor.

Really you can do anything but I would definitly get the front bulk head and sell that engine for the OS .18cvr

i would do what respirology said sell your engine and get 140 buy the 99 dollar engine but then i would buy a better steering servo

i would keep the 2.5 and get the al bulks. if you have any spare change, i would follow with rpm arms

i would get:
Hitec HS5645
Kimbrough Servo Saver
build your own 5-cell battery pack for receiver - you gotta have a charger for it though

Mow some lawns and save up a tad bit more; sell the engine and then buy the new engine, servo, and receiver pack.

i just broke in the 2.5r(revo engine), so i don't need a new engine. should i just get the bulkheads?
i already have a 5 cell rx pack

Check ebay for those Hot Bodies shocks. I got the threaded ones for $50 new and they are great. You could also get some stiffer springs, that's always a cheap yet effective upgrade.

Hard Core titaninum skid plates

Not a bad upgrade at all, but if you don't feel like dropping that much on some skids, get the RPM Skid/Wear plates. They add a great deal of durability to the skids and bulks.

since i dont race, i thought the better steering servo is something i should get later on. since im a basher and i will be crashing, i thought a aluminum bulkhead set and a aluminum bumper set would help me out the most. the parts are american cnc machining and i bought the off of ebay.

It seems like your set on buying bulkheads; if you do buy bulks you DO NOT need both the front and the rear. What you need is a FRONT aluminum bulkhead. The rear one never breaks but the front one has a tendency to snap, and integy's are fine as long as you get the heavy duty ones. DON'T waste your money on aluminum bumper mounts because the stock plastic is flexible enough that it will just absorb most impacts. Next I would get aluminum skids (titaniums are nice but exspensive).

I run a Medium .21 in my maxx and the upgrades that I found I need (not wanted) were : Front aluminum bulkhead, rear aluminum diff case, aluminum skids F/R/Center, servo savor (this will improve servo response without you having to buy a better servo), BETTER TIRES (the stockers are heavy and don't have much bite), and CVD's.

but if you don't feel like dropping that much on some skids, get the RPM Skid/Wear plates. Yeah thay are pricey(?) but I ran stock bulks for(on a used truck) for months(with HC Ti.s) never really broke'um but I did spilt all the screw holes out tho. LOL.Now to the RPM skid/wear plates really help that much? I had a set but swapped'um before testing them out. :(

i have the integy's on my truck and they are total crap... ton of slop at the hinge pins. If I ran my maxx (very busy lately) I would run the ACNCM bulks.

They help a great deal in the front. I haven't broken a bulk yet, and I got them in spring. It's a cheap upgrade that actually WORKS unlike the aluminum bumpers and such lol.
