ok i dont think u should move the needle setting make sure ur exhuast didnt come over the header or the back of the manifold.. Just take a look. And did u recently put a tune pipe on there or anything.

i know what the solution is! GET AN ELECTRIC!!!! and get a couple nitro r/c videos to learn how to even use them, before u use one again, because you post on here with the dumbest questions. Also, did you ever hear of a hobby store, they would be more efficent in solving this, because you only supplying a limited amount of info, and a nitro engine is going to be loud! and if its revving, let the throttle alone, or get a new servo, or charge up the rx pack. thats the only thing that would cause something like that, or you need a new clutch spring, which would give u a rough idle.

Anyway....
Nitrous, if i had to guess, you exhast header has come loose, which is why its not starting very well, and why its so loud.
- There are two bolts securing the exhast hearder to the side (back) of the engine.
- Check those for tightness, and also that the gasget isnt riped.
- Also, if thats fine, check the silcon coupler.

Yeah.
- While i honestly beleave that 99% of people would be better of starting with a electric first (like i did) if they have gone and go a nitro, all you can do is just try and help them anyway, certainly, no need for that sort of comment.

Okay let’s start from the beginning.
Our first clue is that the engine is too loud AND that you need to hold your finger over the exhaust (this is called the stinger) pipe to get it started. Most nitro engines need some back pressure to start. This is how the engine forces fuel to the carburetor. If you don’t have any back pressure you’re not going to get any fuel and its not going to start. By placing your finger over the stinger you are creating the needed back pressure and the engine fires but is loud. This tells us that you have a leak and it is probably at the point were the exhaust pipe meets the head. Make sure you have a tight connection there. If that point seems okay then move down the pipe and check the other connections. The other day we had an engine that refused to start unless we held a finger over the carb. It turns out that the silicone connector between the exhaust pipe and muffler had come lose and we were getting weak fuel line pressure.
The only mixture screws you need to worry about are the low and high mixture screws. Read your manufactures instructions and check where these should be set. Most recommend that both are 3.5 turns out from a SOFT seat. This will should have you running rich durning the first few startups. Finally read through the board here as there is a good posting on new methods to break in nitro engines.

Can I? I want to dish it....I'm just FULL of it today!!! You little whipper-snapper.
Anyway, I agree with D.t.a.m. Check everything from header to muffler. Pull the header off if you can't seem to find anything. You'll want to inspect that gasket in there.

Id just like to apologize for the way i acted on new years day, i had a real rough night, dont even ask, didnt feel too good in the morning. Sorry to anyone i offended, i didnt really realize what i was saying, to mad quick, i do know my stuff, if you want to give me a lesson, id like to be entertained, because it seems like you know everything about r/c, id like to be a r/c god too, to nitrous, make sure your header is on right, and make sure there is no holes in the header/pipe, and make sure all flanges are intact (rubber things). If all else fails, a visit to the lhs should help you.
Sorry again,
Jeff

the engine isn't getting too much fuel or it would be blubbery sounding. if fuel is the issue, the engine isn't getting enough of it so its running lean with high rpms

Hey you I agree that u should have started with an elctric car but its ok
Is the wheels turning? If they are your car is iddling to high. Look in the manual and screw down the iddling at the iddling screw. If u read the manual and understand it I think u can handle this. But also do like some of the guys said check the exhaust
