I've been a pretty avid supporter of Novak, but this weekend at the track I saw a GTB go up in smoke on its second run. Two of us bought GTB's a couple months ago and had great success with it, and because of that success, 3 other people decided to get them. Two went up in smoke while the third one thermaled within 5 minutes. All 5 of us run the same car (XXX-4) and we were all geared the same. Everything was wired properly, too.

I was just wondering if Novak would comment on why we're seeing so many of these fail. Specifically, what is the cause of so many of them going up in smoke?

I know that you usually only hear the bad stories and not the good ones, but it's difficult for me to ignore the fact that the Sphere/NEO has one very consistent problem that we're hearing about a lot, and that's motor stuttering. The GTB's consistent problem is that it smokes out.

I know Novak has great customer service and I certainly appreciate the time that CharlieS spends here helping people out, but I do think we should be made aware of what's causing these problems and what the risks are.

Thanks

If you want any direct comment from Novak regarding what you believe to be a problem with their product, you are going to HAVE to contact them directly. This forum cannot be used as a tool to "call out" manufacturers. There may be a problem that needs to be addressed, so this doesn't mean that we're trying to help anyone hide a potential problem, but if you're looking for a reply from Novak, then you have to ASK Novak. We don't want to have to make another rule for the forums, so please recognize that this is not the way to go about getting a direct response. There are already 22 other threads regarding the GTB, so if you're interested in getting information from other users, then post in one of those threads, but please contact Novak directly for their response.
