Hey Dan, welcome to the hobby and welcome to RCZ.
To answer your question. Yes the mini lst is a great truck. I have two of them and love them. Yes they will break just like every other rc
But don't let that steer you away from the hobby. It's fun to fix and work on the rc's. That is a huge part of the hobby. I would almost suggest you buy a kit instead of a ready to run for your first rc. Maybe an FT-RC18 or something. Build it yourself from the start, so when you break it, you'll know exactly how to fix it.

Just FYI: The Mini-LST and the FT-RC18 are 1/18th scale rc's. You can go alittle bigger to a 1/10th scale. AE T4's are great to build and alot of fun to bash and race.

Go here (http://www.easyrc.com/) for more info :)

The Mini LST is very nice, but I would think something bigger would be far more entertaining. Perhaps something like a Traxxas Stampede, or a Hot Boddies E-Zilla(comes with a charger and batteries in the box), or even Traxxas E-Maxx.

The important questions are:
1) Where will you be driving it?
2) How much do you want to spend?

I have around 200$
I'll be driving it in my garden mostly and sometimes on the road..
I want a big one (Revo recommended by the dealer) but i'll buy that in a few months.

Then go with the mini lst for now. It's a great rc to start off with and you'll have tons of fun with it. There is also a thread about it http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=210980&page=1&pp=25

My suggestion: Go 1/10th scale and buy either the Traxxas Rustler (Stadium Truck) or Stampede (Monster Truck).

Both are inexpensive, and durable, with tons of after-market support, plus factory parts are inexpensive and available almost everywhere!

Good Luck.

I've been looking around and I don't know which to choose.
I've been thinking about those and i dont know which to choose.
are the big ones more fun?

Yes, definitly..the big ones are way more exciting IMO. But if you are only spending $200 then your options are limited. If you can save up another 50-100 bux then your options will dramaticly increase.

I would get an emaxx........... They are very fun and pretty reliable.. I am still on the first set of motors going on 4 years old....

If you want big, go Stampede for now. It is kinda big, and it'll leave you with money for a charger and a battery or two. Plus, like was said above, parts are cheap and plentiful for when you push it too far, and break something.
