I wouldn't be surprised if Castle is still working on the motor part. The controller should be just about finished by now. I can ask what the size of it is.

I wonder if they are still going to put out a controller. Their adds seemed to have dissappeared out of Car Action.

i think there will be different version packages for them just like the orginal 1/18 mamba. The new esc is the same as the monster version has a bigger heatsink. It can have up to 4 lipo cells and 16 nicad/nihm. can run brushed and has no limit.

there is a picture of the new MM system in the latest issue of RC Car mag in their Ihobby coverage... it shows both the speedo and the motor in Palmer's Grand Motorsports drag car... we drove 1 type of 10th scale speedo at the Ihobby show, the one intended for 10th scale cars and trucks (not the monster truck version), and tested on 3 different kv rating of motors...

as far as "if" it's going to make it to market, Hell ya, it's on the way... as far as when, all i know is that the guys at CC are working their butts off to get it into the consumers hands as soon as possible...

couple other notes from the CC camp... the latest version of software is out for the Mamba 25, the 1.03 software.... this version is very drivable, and adds some more bells and whistles.... also, keep on the lookout for the Berg car receivers.... these are TINY... easily the smallest receivers on the market for surface use...

so just hang tight guys... the goodies are on the way, and will REALLY be worth the wait....

Will the monster truck version be able to handle being raced in a truggy. Like 30 min mains?

I wouldn't doubt if it could handle more than that. CC apparently has a tendency to under rate their stuff, and can take way more abuse than thought. I won't be surprised if these things are beefy as a cow.:D

Awesome! :D
Tenth scale stadium truck is dead at my track. Unlimited truck is blowing up over here.

Will they have a good selection of motors?

What is a good lipo volt wise ? Is 7.4 enough to stay with the modded nitros I will be running against. Max amps will be making my batteries, any ideas? Is 12,000mah enough?

Here is a link to the track I will be running on. The track will be getting a make over and the long straight aways will be history, they are going for a more supercross style. They are going to make the track even bigger than it is now.

The problem with low voltages for high power and runtime applications is heat. Low voltage systems are generally less efficient so they will heat up more. You need 14.8 volts and 4,000 mah.

I do have a brand new 1409 2y aveox motor that has been in my closet for a long time. Could I use this motor for a truggy? It is sensored.

On the motor itself is says: 40,000rpm max, 40A cont. 80A peak

On their web site i found a chart for 1409 2 but with no y after the 2.
I hope this is the same motor.

What's the length of it? The kv is good, but if it is too small of a motor, then it is too small.

Here is a diagram

What type of lipos(volts/mah) would be good for this motor and application.
Or should I try using this as a speed run motor in my tc3?

It might be a little small for your truggy. It should work quite nicely as a speed run motor for your TC3, though.

Can't wait to use my pletty w/ the 6 cell set-up in my FTTC4 and sell the Novak.

Well, maybe it will be a while....
but if so, I'm sure that what they will release will definitely be a winner hands down. Can't wait.
