Hey people, has anyone built and/or raced a Prather Piranha? I just picked up an unbuilt one, and I'm wondering how well they work... I liked the looks of 'em when I saw the kits years ago (late '80s?), so I grabbed this one when it popped up on eBay this week. The appearance resembled the Octura Wing Ding of the '70s, but this hull's epoxy-glass.

i think u could do great things to it like wat u did with ur other boat
(the one with picco)
with some work, it would run pretty well
my uncle had 1 and gave it 2 me

I don't care what people say about Prather hulls, and epoxy-glass being a pain to prep... Sure they're more work than gel coat, but they build lighter and stronger. That old Prather mono of mine t-boned a Twincraft a friend was running, and caved in the side of the Twincraft, and separated the deck from the hull... Made the Twincraft pretty ugly. The Prather hull got it's paint scratched at the nose. A couple of years later in the Northridge earthquake, it fell off the shelf from 7 feet up, and landed on it's nose, this time chipping the paint. Epoxy-glass is good stuff! Luke, what hull did you get from your uncle? A Prather Piranha?

You can't beat epoxy-glass for strenght to weight to price.
K&B along with Prather were a perfect match there stuff lasts for GENERATIONS! If you owned and (maintained) these items you know what I'm talking about.

I have one of these. it's a very quick boat. I have an OPS .80 in mine I bought it from a hobby shop. it loses radio range easily for some reason though.
heres some pictures of my piranha. good luck, maybe these pictures will help you out.
