Hello everybody, I saw this forum and was wondering if anyone would happen to know what kind of car this is below.... I got it a long time ago from my uncle, in the condition shown, and I am not sure what model it is... I know it is a Tamiya, and I think I heard it was a 1/12 scale (don't remember though). Anybody have any ideas? (the following images are thumbnails, so you can click on them for a larger image)

Actually, tamiyaclub is the first place I tried, but they have new user registration deactivated on their forum :(

What would an AE pan/motor mean?

AE=Associated Electrics... it says it on the motor... "pan" is the term used for a chassis... in this case, the chassis is flat, aka pan chassis... most pan chassis types are direct drive, AE is well known for pan cars back then...

The car is basically an Associated 1/12th scale car. The front end, tires, motor pod and chassis (fiberglass) are from the 12i. While the stock chassis used a double plate arrangement (the upper stiffer plate is missing) someone modified the main chassis with the addition of the aluminum plate.
I had a 12E, still own a 12i to 12Lw. Only place I've seen a manual available is on the competitionx website.
