I can assure their is no way to answere that question, what you can do to get a idea, is take out the piston and sleeve, and see how far up the you can push the piston in the sleeve, if it goes to the almost top, it on the way out.
If you dont want to take it apart, how does the flywheel, is it still hard to turn over thats a good thing.
I have had .12 engines last one gallon, and i have had them last past 14 gallons, it has a lot to do with brake in imo

That, and quality of your maintenance, and how lean you run the engine. If you run it hard and lean, like Dave says it can last as little as a gallon. If you run it fat and not too hard, and engine can last as much as 13 gallons. That's kinda rare though.
Lose your fuel filter one time and it's a toss-up, it could be dead that day or run for several gallons more.
Like most of us I can't tell you, I share my fuel w. my wife's engine and others and lose count after the third or fourth gallon.

Do you have to buy a new engine or do you just rebuild? I didn't know these engines had such short lives.

That isn't short if you run a 75cc tank, and run 10 gallons at 7 minutes a piece i find that you run about 60 hours, which isn't a short life at all. After that you can put in a new p/s, and maybe a new rod, and run it for another 60 hours.
