Ok guys I have had problems logging in on my account today!

I remember Steve P. dropping in before and telling us to watch it when the post gets so big!

I can't post at all on the other one! Also it shows onthe main page that Burnslapup was the last person to post but when the thred comes up my post from last night is the last one....

Maybe this will allow us to get back to the regularly scheduled program!

Ron you still got your Stika machine? If so you wanna sell it? Or atleast let me borrow it to see if I REALLLLLLY want one...!! LOL

Anthony, the machine really isn't mine, I hijacked it from my sister. I think she still thinks it's packed up in storage!! I might be able to bring it Saturday if I can find the disk that goes with it. If not you can send me what you want to cut out and I'll see if it'll do it.

Hank, Ron, Terrell, and whoever else... if yall haven't heard... the TCS at the RCO in PA has been cancelled and awarded to Frederick, MD on March 18th. That's a Saturday. So no need to take off that Monday for a travel day. However maybe we can take off that Friday instead? Anyways, it's the same track several of us went to last year (Laurie, George, Justin, Anthony, Brandon, myself, Jairo, etc). It's an indoor asphalt track that can be brutal on front end parts. Just to let yall know... It's not as big as the RCO. But the traction should be better. Anyways, catch yall there.

51104 arms,51103 blocks,51107 caster 4', 53826 king pins/flanged tube, 51094 wheel axle, 51092 swing shaft, 53500 cross joint ans shaft, 53539 (3mm,2mm,1,.5mm spacers) 9465634 screw bag, 50880 diff plate4 15 , 53563 diff plate evo4, 49350 cap screw/lock nut and 49299 diff spring.

Or at least, leave it in your room. If theyy don't hve the part there at the hotel, and it's at the regular store, they'll get it there in a few hours. That's how Jimmy got his TLT. Went in the "hobby store" and got it. Pretty much name any car kit and it'll be there with pretty much all the parts for it too. Hmmm, wonder if the T-shirt I got from them still fits,,,,

Ron Zee---I really wanted to get one of those Juggernauts while they were still around. I just like the big trucks for some reason. All my rc stuff is going into storage. I don't race, and not enough time it seems to even go out and play. If you know of someone that wants the F1, just give me a buzz. Congrats to Justin on the win, now if I hadn't rolled it on the 3rrd lap the outcome would have been different! But none the less you ran a clean race and got the win.

I am just glad to see that my out dated 05 is still competitive... Boy just wait until I get the issuses taken care of with that T2. See you guys in two weeks...if I am not still in Orlando. :)

Had fun today. I guess the setup switch over from the EvoIV to the 415 worked pretty good. But the brush change for the main wasn't good at all. I lost lots of torque. Anyways, congrats to Justin on his win. Sorry for taking Mark out as he said. I now have a great big X mark on my car next time I'm back at the Wood.

Well like Anthony said, good job to Ron and Glenn for keeping things running on schedule. Oh wait.. I forget... Congrats to Mike L for his win in Mod Touring! :D I think your car needs some more rotation mid turn. That's where you are loosing alot of corner speed. I meant to tell ya that after I was marshalling your car during the Q3 and Main. But I can't drive that good anyways to keep up with ya.. hehe.. Maybe Barry will have a good setup in Florida? Anyways, see ya at the Birds!

Mark after watching your car yesterday...I think your biggest problem is tires. They seem to be really good in the middle of the run but for only a few laps. Your car looks like it changes about 3 different times during a 5 min. run. You had plenty of staightaway speed and torque off the corners, so I don't think its a motor/battery issuse. The GQ tires may take a whole different set-up than what you are used to trying. I am not to familiar with them but just guessing here.

I know the years before you have never been off as far as you are now.

Just got back from work. I guess I should start packing! Knowing my lazy butt... It won't get done til 1 hour before the flight!!

Anyways, just wanted to say sorry again Mark. I know exactly what happened in the turn. So I will explain so that you will understand. I was taking the inside line coming up on you. You were mid line. As I was coming into the turn, I tend to arch out alittle for more cornerspeed. You were ahead of me and you turned tight into the turn. This let me clip your rear end spinning you out while not affecting my car at all. I see this happen all the time with everyone. But it was not intentional. Laurie and I got into it twice in the main. But no hard feelings between us. Just big boys racing toy cars! :D So sorry once again. I can understand if you take me out when I get back... :p

As for tires, yes... they do make a difference in lap times.... I tested this in the first qualifier yesterday. 23laps on one set of tires.... vs 24 laps on a different compound for the 2nd, and 3rd Qualifier. Also tall tires suck..... At the very least.... or tallest I would ever run would be 57mm. I love my tires at 56.5 to 55.5mm pending on compound. I can't give out any more secrets than that haha.. yeah right...

Oh great.. time to put the laundry in the dryer...

I ended up in the I-main. I finished 4th, 2 seconds ahead of Goerge Love and just 2 seconds behind third place. Justin ended up like 6 in his stock main and didn't make his 19 turn main, (blew up a battery?). Jimmy was hammering and made it to second in his main before the inside ball stud came loose and ended up with no steering and out of the race. Terrell in a smash fest J or K main ended up winning!! That is one race you'd have to see to believe. Brandon I think had the hardest run, he started on the pole and held onto the lead for the whole race. He looked to me to be visibly drained from the stress afterwards, but what a race it was. It'll be on the videos when they come out.

I might have done better but I did the biggest mistake you can do. After the first round of qualifying, a few looked at my car and were bugging me about how far out of whack it was. Sooo, later on that day I went and readjusted the settings. BAD IDEA!!!! But, everything finally got straightened out and I bounced around merrily in my I main. At least my goal was met,, I wasn't in the L main this year.

Ron Zee
02-13-2006, 06:53 PM
Oh, as for that list above,, my car was the 415 Tamiya, Jimmy and Terrell both were switching between their 415 MSX's and the Evo 4's, Reggie used his Cyclone and the Pro 4, and Justin was using his Shumacher MI2ec.

JimmyMac

Well I got back today. Had fun at the Birds. I didn't have much luck. But at least I raced every heat.. hehe... Yes, I did race both the 415 and EvoIV, but they just got slower and slower as the traction went up. I think Terrell switched between the 415, EvoIV, and Cyclone. He ended up winning his main with the Cyclone.

Congrats to Brandon on his TQ and win in Sportsman 19t. He got a good start and never looked back. Fellow Express teammate Larry finished 2nd behind him. Anthony was Cmain. But I think he chunked a tire or something. He also has some nice pictures to show everyone later on.. haha..

Uh... I guess I should get ready for work tomorrow. Ron, my celphone doesn't seem to be working too good in town today. I stopped by your house, but no one has been answering the door. So I will stop by tomorrow after work to pick up my stuff.

Laurie, George.. I didn't pick up any CO27 motors. I'm still waiting on the word about them. Anyways, I'll catch everyone Saturday...

Had fun hanging with all the NC boyz at the birds. Keeps ya busy running 2 classes, and also trying to watch the other cars on the team and helping them out. Definatly some fun times to remember for sure.

Anthony- thanks for the reminder of the "4" reasons to win the main. Was nice to stand in the middle of them and hold the plaque, LOL!!

Tag was definatly the man down there. We had 4 cars that ran lap times fast enough to make the A in stock, but it was driver error not the motors that kept us out, sorry about that Tag :( .

Also congrats to Terrell for winning his main, I didn't see it but heard he did a great job. Must have been the steak!!!

Hello Rosewood.... I had alots of fun at the birds. So everyone knows Mr. Melton was King in his main. Brandon was very fast, one day I would like to be at his level, he is a very control driver! Good job Brandon.

John Tag managed things from my view very well and got his team there. That guy tunes a mean motor.
Thanks John Tag for thr brushes

Thanks to Freddy....your a real cool dude.
Thanks to the Express team. It was fun hanging with you guys.

Thanks Jimmy for trying to help me get one of the two Tamiya running right. They are just spoiled to tarmac.

Thanks Ron for the OJ, next time run your car the way you are use to.
Thanks Justin for the For shaving a mean tire!

Glenn- good to here about the tires, I don't think anyone will be dissapointed in them. They are very similar in comparison to the Jaco's, but don't come unglued from the rim as easily. (chunking is different, lol)

I used the Parma's in one round testing the difference between tires, and my car was faster with the BSR's giving me the TQ and a brand new set in main for the win.

Terrell- Thanks man, it's really just testing and practicing that makes you better. There were some weekends at the wood where my car was a little off compared to other weeks, but the whole time I was testing tires, set-up, etc. You may sacrifice a race or two, but you learn bigger and better things for future races that have more meaning. Other thing I would recommend is to stick with one car for a while and learn it really well, so you have a plan and know what to expect when traveling to races that aren't on home turf. Just my .02. Great job on the win in the main, and was fun hanging out.

JimmyMac
02-15-2006, 06:01 PM
I will no longer give the advice to sticking with one car seeing as how I can never stick with one car!! haha.... But I will say it's the best advice to anyone who wants to be fast and competitive at RC Racing. Switching cars will just make people lost and confused. And you'll never learn what certain things will do to your car if you never change things on purpose from heat to heat... race to race. Just like what Brandon said. So for asphalt.. the 415 is my B#$%! hehe...

Brandon, I thought you ran BSR's. Someone else said you didn't... hmmmm Kinda like how you ran PRS gears....

Brandon, I thought you ran BSR's. Someone else said you didn't... hmmmm Kinda like how you ran PRS gears....
I ran BSR's every heat and in the mains at the snowbirds. There have been some times I ran something else at Rosewood testing certain characteristics of tires, but my lap times never improved testing others.

PRS, ummm, I do run PRS gears, just not for one race. If I had a PRS pinion it would have been $100 and not $50.

JimmyMac
02-15-2006, 09:30 PM
Tag told me the KOS motors (stock and 19t) have already been submitted to Roar. I'm sure the CO27 has been submitted as well. Just takes time for Roar to go thru them. That, and these motors are just becoming readily available to the public. Trinity had tons of the CO27 motors in their booth. But Tag just got some in, so I'll wait for him to fill in my preorder for one that I made awhile back. I really like the Integy motors though.... ;)

For those of you who didn't get enough snowbirds last week, or wanted to go and missed it, you could always run the layout at Rosewood backwards and voila, there you have the birds all over again. Just the driver stand on the other side.

Jimmy- I would have never even realized it unless you said something. Little did we know we could have practiced it the whole time, LOL.

bmelton
02-17-2006, 12:01 PM
Hey guys, if anyone is interested in some batteries for a good deal let me know. They won't be the BEST packs in the building but are very sufficient for great practice packs or great for off road competition.

These were my snowbirds packs that were charged a few times at high amp rates for max performance while at the race, thus the reason they have lost a bit of run time and voltage drop. I would say the packs are at 85-90% performance of our competition packs. (I honestly doubt that anyone not in the high 24 laps range would honestly notice the difference between these and brand new packs.)

The money for these packs will go straight to express motorsports and not to me. if you are interested in them we are charging $20 per pack. I can ship them if you would like, but you will paypal me for the shipping costs. I can't make Rosewood for a few weeks, so i am willing to ship. If interested PM me and I'll give you express's paypal info.

How many times does Hendrick get to cheat and still keep their cars. I remember when Ganassi showed up illegal and they impounded and KEPT their car. This is now the third time in TWO years that the 48 car has been found illegal and gets a slap on the wrist.

Ain't like Knaus can't listen on trackpass at home and text message to the crew what to do.

sedanracer8

Gee, I suppose they're the only ones doing something funny. It aint cheatin' till ya get caught.

But even when he does get caught , Nascar still lets him run the same car...Hes not a rookie at cheating either...How many wins has been stripped from Jimmy now

Or how about the playing favorites now , with Stewart just getting a longest line penalty for aggresive driving while the car he hit (Matt Kenseth) was just crowding him coming out of the pits and he gets a pass through...

How about that 3rd place finish by Ryan Newman though :D Not bad since his best finish there i think was 25th...lol

bmelton
02-20-2006, 04:19 PM
You noticed Nascar spent 3 hours tearing Johnson's car apart before confirming the win didn't you?
But my issue is the fact that they didn't impound the car upon finding INTENTIONAL cheating on the part of 48 crew/Knaus. The fact is that every team has ONE tricked out/preferred restrictor plate car, reasoning for JG not to practice and bend a fender here or there.

The example that NASCAR sets with the 48 car is the fact that if we find you cheating, we'll give you a chance to fix it before the race, but with other teams they have impounded the car and disallowed the team to use it.

bmelton
02-20-2006, 04:22 PM
I guess NASCAR figures that if Pres. Clinton pardons Hendrick from going to prison over laundering/bribing Hondas illegaly to his dealerships, then they should pardon his teams for bending the rule book. Rick doesn't frown on the teams doing this because he once was a cheater in the corporate realm. Once a cheater/always a cheater.

I will tell you like Laurie and I were talking Sat. The track has been the same layout since Dec....Its now the end of Feb. Lets do the #'s

3 quals at 24 laps each
1 main at 24 laps
and say 3 practice packs every Sat with say 24 laps= 168 laps EVERYWEEK! LOL

So the track has been the same for about 12 weekends
thats atleast 2000 laps on the same layout........

Don't you think that we should be able to drive it BLINDFOLDED by now? LOL

Just messing with you Jmac! That is what I told Laurie when he said he was happy to see he was getting his car better and seeing a difference in time. I told him with over 200 laps every weekend on the same layout he should be getting faster.....you would think! LOL

Don't you think that we should be able to drive it BLINDFOLDED by now? LOL

Well if that's the case, how come you keep finding the flappers in the main!!?? Maybe you should take the blind fold off so you can see exactly where they are :D . Oh wait, you only race every other weekend so that would be 1000 laps for you, not 2000.

Personal Disclaimer: I hit a bunch of flappers too ;) .

Personal Disclaimer: I hit a bunch of flappers too ;) .

I learned from the BEST! Plus you hit the so often I thought that was the fastest way around the track..

I only got about 750 laps on it. I went to a few other races during that time. I am not going to other tracks to test set-ups, I goto test the FLAPPERS! LOL

John Tag
02-23-2006, 06:41 PM
Rule #1 never try and pass either Brandon or Anthony chances are you will just roll on by after they meet Mr. Flapper ...

Case in point.. Snowbirds...Brandon gets great holeshot..actually does what we always tell him stay loose with the line and not tight to flapper ...Result National A main winner... Stock touring on A main run..what does Brandon do..yes run tight..result Red face sitting in flapper, final result B main..... :p

Brandon great job at Birds...

Disclaimer...Man I shouldn't talk.... :D

If you hit them going fast enough it doesn't hurt you :D . So, if your going to hit it, hit it like you mean it and you keep going. Don't hit it with none of this "oops I messed up crap", lol.

Tag- You know me, pole or break the car, LOL. Just look at express race, had Ray's TQ beat by 3 secs on clock with 2 mins to go, what did I do, break the car, LOL!!!

Yea, but I'm only going to let him use it when I am with him. I'm going to enroll him in a hunting safety course too. Knowledge is the best safety there is.

Dee---The mini sounds like a fun car to drive. With the exception of touring cars, just about every class I have made an attempt to run, has fizzled out for one reason or another. I still have the F201 sitting in a box doing nothing. The way my work schedule is right now, racing of any sort is on the back burner with nothing promising for the future. Asphalt season may bring about a change of heart.

Finally got a FT TC4 put together so this saturday I should be racing for the first time. Still trying to find a good deal on a transponder but they don't seem to sell cheap. May just have to buy a new one.

npresme
02-28-2006, 10:27 AM
Focusd- The transponders used are almost the same as new prices. Go ahead and just get a new one. The personal transponder and the Spektrum system are by far the BEST innovations in RC in the past 5 yrs.

I remember paying $55 for my personal about 5yrs ago and thinking to myself, I really don't want to spend that much for a transponder.....now I wish I had bout a few hundered of them. I could have made a small fortune on um....

Dee---I do not have any stick packs. I gave them all to my son some time ago. I will check and see what I have that would work. I haven't charged a battery in three months. I will touch base again Thursday night to confirm whether or not I will be there. :)

Don't worry about the batteries. I know I have one extra one, and I'm sure we can get enough batteries for you to run. These cars will run pretty good with just about anything. I've raced with a couple of 1800 Venom packs, like we used to use in spec touring, and seemed to have plenty of speed.

Mini's were fun, but those newbies were out there to take us other drivers out I think. One of them was overheard to say "oh,, just missed 'em!!" as I passed him and his car "swerved" towards mine. They were also quoteing Days of Thunder with the "rubbins racin'" thing. Or maybe I'm just paranoid seeing as they pretty much left Todd and Glenns cars alone,,,,

At any rate though, it was fun having 6 mini's out there and they say they'll be back again so come on out and play with the mini's!!!

We went there for the Novak race in Janurary. Cool place, and always great show by Scotty. Our flights were actually pretty cheap to Milwaukee. Hmm, if three or four of us went, wouldn't be too bad.

Bad news guys. I will not be able to make it Sat. My fridge light is out and I have to stay home to replace it. ;)

Some things are just more important than RC racing. :D

Bad news here too. I can't race Saturday either. I'm not gonna win. So it's no fun and I won't be racing..... even though it's just a hobby... :D

Double reason why I won't be there as well. The wife wants to conceive, and she says I have to be there when it happens. :o :p
