Dom Mauro set a new record with that hull last fall in Flint, MI in the Gas class. The engine that he had in it didn't hurt a bit either. Either the Lazer 45 or Razor would be great choices. I saw Dom's Lazer 45 race in some really rough water and took it in stride.

what kind of hardware can you run with that hull or the blast cat 40 hull?

The Razor and Blast Cat are 2 different animals.
Dom uses M&D Designs hardware for most of his boats. You can contact Brian Watts at www.rocketcityracing.com as he handles everything that you'd need for either hull including the hulls.

It might just be terminology but you don't "find" the cg of a hull. You decide where you want it and balance the boat accordingly by moving motor and radio box around (even fuel tank but this is a variable weight and preferably should be centred on the desired CG). When you do this all hardware should be attached as should the tuned pipe if used.
Rule of thumb is generally between 28-33% of hull length depending on power source.
I'm sure if you contact ac boats he can provide the information you want. The other alternative is to contact Dom he can be reached through this thread
