How do I go about getting hitec servos to work in an LST? I am getting a killer deal on a new lst from my lhs for $450. I was thinking of putting 2 hitec 645mg steering servos in it, can this be done? I know the servos will fit but the splines are different than the stock servo savers. Also, is there a single servo conversion for this? I currently have a brand new hitec 5998tg that I would use instead if I could. Thanks!

It comes with 2 Z590 steel gear servos that work quite nicely.....

I know that, I already had one, but since I am getting a good deal I decided to get another one. I just wanted to add a little more power to the steering.

I'd prob look at the LST upgrade kit for a first modification, over replacing servos, but that is just me.....I used to have 1, and thoght the Z590's were just fine for the truck.....

If you really don't like the Z590's, you prob can pull them and sell on Ebay for a few $$$$ to offset the costs of other upgrades......

Yes, you can put dual 645's in it. Just buy some servo savers splined for Hitec servos. The Kimbrough 124 should work, or, if you want super precise steering, I know of no stiffer servo saver than the AE ones made for the MGT. As for the single servo thing...I haven't tried it on mine...but I'm almost positive that you just pull one servo and linkage off. I know it doesn't look like it, but the bellcranks are tied together, so one servo should steer it just fine, as long as it's up to 13 lbs of truck and 7" tires.

Just a quick question are stock lst and jumbo kongs the same size or are jumbo kongs a little bigger .

I saw the updrage kit. The only thing with that is I may as well buy an lst2 instead. I have a brand new xs3 that I am going to sell so with that taken from the price of the 2 it would be the less than what I would pay for the lst and the upgrade kit and I would have the new engine as well. You know, that sounds like a pretty good idea now that I think of it.

How strong is the 427? Would it be worth replacing it with a picco .27?

Also, how are the tires on the lst2? Would it be worth getting proline bowties right away? Do the proline 23mm hubs work on the lst2?

If they work with the lst , they should work with the lst2 .

Jumbo Kongs are way bigger. Stock LST tires are huge...7" tall and 4" wide. Jumbo Kongs are like Honda tires...8.5" tall and only God knows how wide. Don't buy them...seriously. They'll kill your truck.

The 427 is nutty fast, probably the fastest engine in any RTR monster. The Picco is considerably stronger still, but the 427 is worth keeping around. I'd wait until you blow it up to replace it.

Also, how are the tires on the lst2? Would it be worth getting proline bowties right away? Do the proline 23mm hubs work on the lst2?
They're good tires, but if you plan on racing pretty hardcore, you'll probably want to swap them out for 40 Series Bowties or something similar. You can't use Pro-Line's 23mm adapters on the LST2 (the axles are completely different), but there are still a few options. One...buy Losi's 420 series rims and put 40 Series Bowties on them...or I've heard that the 23mm adapters that come stock on the CEN Nemesis fit ont he LST2's axle shafts w/o modification and allow you to run Pro-Line's 23mm rims. I haven't seen or done this myself, but I've heard that someone else at my local track has done it.

If you are going to race the bow-ties are going to way to small for a LST go with the Panther Pythons which is somewhat bigger or go with Cen 55 series which are awesome for a truck as big as the LST. At rcuniverse.com there is a review of the Cen 55 on there.

Holy cow 8.5 inches tall , that would kill the acceleration .

If you are talking about the Cens they are only 7.5in tall. Tons of people on LSTcentral.com use them with no problem.
