I just ran my Triton Cat with upgrades from Steve @ OffShoreElectrics and
 IT HAULS!!

(700sc / JETI ESC / 42mm Graupner prop / 14 cell Powerizer 3300s)

Of course, that brings up a bunch of questions...

I've got the packs all the way back in the hull and it is a little unstable and doesn't like to turn at top speed. Do I need the CG more forward/have the hull running "wetter"?

The batteries and motor still run a little hot. Where exactly does the cooling coil need to sit on the motor? With out un-coiling/stretching it, it fits only over the fan vents at the back of the motor...is this correct? Do I still need to run a smaller prop?

Any body know how to post pics on here? I'll try to get some install shots to show how I fit it all in. (right now I'm off to the lake to clock it with the GPS :D )

Hi Now you are getting somewhere. Usually the coils go arround the larger part of the can. Leave the vents open if you can. Are you gitting water flow when the boat moves? You don't need much but,Some flow is needed. You have a large boat, even for a 700sc. n.h.schmidt

I put the coil over the larger diameter of the motor to open up the vents, but haven't run it that way yet. It's tough to tell how much water flow I'm getting because it is moving so quick, but the tube is full when I bring it in. I'll try to run it today with the coil moved. Thanks for the tips :) - MT

Try looking for water flow at 40 mph...........

Yea, I'll bet it's impossible to see at 40. Heat (or lack of) is the tell tale sign it's working, and mine seems to be doing much better now. Now if I can just figure out the high-speed handling issues...

There's 2 words that I never thought that I'd see together, Fast and Triton. :D Move the batteries forward a little at a time until you get the right balance of the boat flying and turning ability.
I check for water flow at 50+ MPH. If you need to, place the exit line where it can be easier to be seen at speed. Even full-sized outboards use a "tell-tale" so check for water flow.

Fast is relative. (now all the original hardware is wearing out...yippee! more upgrades!!)
I trimmed out the little partial bulkheads that were originally intended to hold the batts in the forward bay. I'm running them now along the sides of the bay, parallel the motor/driveline and it seems to have calmed it down a bit for rough water.
The boat wanted to go over backwards before if I gunned it from a dead stop with the packs fully aft.
Any idea how a cat is supposed to turn correctly? At speed, it wants to roll to the outside of the turn and ride on the outside sponson. I have to get off the throttle, run it through the turn slow, or I drop it off plane and it rolls to the inside sponson in the turn. Normal?
