HEY, I BOUGHT A USED TAMIYA TNX YESTERDAY. ITS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH ALOT OF VERY GOOD HOPUPS. I'M JUST CURIOUS ABOUT ONE THING. I THINK THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER SWITCHED OUT THE ENGINE THAT CAME WITH THE TNX BECAUSE IT HAS A O.S. 18 ENGINE IN IT NOW. HE PLACED TWO FEUL FITLERS IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE WHICH SEEMS TO BE TAKING AWAY FROM THE TRUE PERFORMANCE OF THE TRUCK ALONE; NOT INCLUDINE ENGINE. THIS IS WHERE I NOTICED SOME MINOR ISSUES....THE TEMPERATURE AFTER A FEW TEST RUNS(NOT FULL THROTTLE) DID NOT REACH OVER 115 DEGREES. I LEANED OUT THE HIGH SPEED NEEDLE AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF WHEN I GAVE IT SOME THROTTLE. WHENEVER I HIT THE BREAK, THE ENGINE WOULD GO TO A VERY, VERY LOW IDLE; AND THEN SHUT OFF WHEN I GAVE IT SOME THROTTLE TO DO ANOTHER RUN. WHEN I FINALY GOT IT TO FULL THROTTLE THE SMALL ENGINE SOUNDED AND PERFORMED EVEN WORSE. :eek: AS IF IT COULDN'T PULL THE 40 SERIES BOW TIE TIRES AND WHEELS. SO WHATS MY VERDICT? :confused: THE FEUL FILTERS? THE ENGINE? OR BAD TUNING?
