HEY, I BOUGHT A USED TAMIYA TNX YESTERDAY. ITS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH ALOT OF VERY GOOD HOPUPS. I'M JUST CURIOUS ABOUT ONE THING. I THINK THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER SWITCHED OUT THE ENGINE THAT CAME WITH THE TNX BECAUSE IT HAS A O.S. 18 ENGINE IN IT NOW. HE PLACED TWO FEUL FITLERS IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE WHICH SEEMS TO BE TAKING AWAY FROM THE TRUE PERFORMANCE OF THE TRUCK ALONE; NOT INCLUDINE ENGINE. THIS IS WHERE I NOTICED SOME MINOR ISSUES....THE TEMPERATURE AFTER A FEW TEST RUNS(NOT FULL THROTTLE) DID NOT REACH OVER 115 DEGREES. I LEANED OUT THE HIGH SPEED NEEDLE AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF WHEN I GAVE IT SOME THROTTLE. WHENEVER I HIT THE BREAK, THE ENGINE WOULD GO TO A VERY, VERY LOW IDLE; AND THEN SHUT OFF WHEN I GAVE IT SOME THROTTLE TO DO ANOTHER RUN. WHEN I FINALY GOT IT TO FULL THROTTLE THE SMALL ENGINE SOUNDED AND PERFORMED EVEN WORSE. :eek: AS IF IT COULDN'T PULL THE 40 SERIES BOW TIE TIRES AND WHEELS. SO WHATS MY VERDICT? :confused: THE FEUL FILTERS? THE ENGINE? OR BAD TUNING?

You don't need two fuel filters. And you are certainly running the engine way too lean. Also, WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?????

1) The TNX came stock with a FS-S18R O.S. engine.
2) Two fuel filters will run your engine lean. There is not enough pressure to push enough fuel through both filters.
3) Are you sure your temp gun is reading F* (Fahrenheit) and not C* (Celsius). It sounds like you are reading C* in which case 115*C is 239*F
4) The HS should be set at 3.0 turns out. This gets you back to a rich setting that the engine will run with.
