Hey guys, well that magical day is tomrrow..Can anyone guess?

Doo do doo do doo do do.....Payday!!!

Lol nuff of htat now, but anyways. I'm lookin to get a mini for something to run arround the house and just mostly terrorize my dogs. :D :p

Now, even though we have hardwood floors, we have rugs down to keep them all nice and what not. So I'm lookin for a mini monster truck. I don't want to go to over board as I already have 3 other R/C's and right now can't afford to much. But I've been looking around.

Now, which would you guys go for and why?

I'm looking at the

Mini T
Mini LST

Those two mostly, but what would you guys say would be good?

Gizmo,

get the RC18T RTR, it's cheaper than the Mini LST, and with 4wd around the house will be better than the Mini T. The other note, is run time, the LST is only going to get you in the 6 minute range bone stock (two motors). So the RC18T or RC18MT are going to be in the 15 to 20 min range stock. It's also one of the fastest of the mini's in stock trim.

No brainer for chasing woof-woofs....but be nice to them!!!

well if your going to be taking your Mini outside just get the MLST by far the best handling and jumping Monster on the market.. But I do agree with HC the 18T very capable truck..

I say Mini-LST...I had 1 for a while (and also a Mini-T) Mini-LST will require fewer hop-ups out of the box than the Mini-T....

And I'm not talking about extreme hop-ups really....talking basic stuff like oil filled shocks, and ball bearings & a rechargable battery.....the Mini-T has bushings & friction shocks out of the box.....

so by the time you get bearings\oil shocks\battery you are getting closer to the price of the Mini-LST....

Get the Kyosho Mini Inferno ST just because it's bigger. I'm getting one.

It really boils down to "what do you want to do with it?" bash, race, chase the dogs....do you want to hoppit or don't care. Minis are all great, but Gizmo it's all in what YOU want to do.

Yeah and if what he wants to do is be able to run the thing then stay away fom mlst.
There are too many issues with the mlst for now so just look at another vehicle.

I find that this size of truck is really too large for my house. If you have nice open areas it might be fine though. I tried the same thing and I can chase the dogs but I don't really have enough room to even do figure 8s. I have to back up to turn around in the hall to make another run into the family room and it is only a throttle blip to get into the living room, get close to a chair and then max steering to get around. And, can't take the corner too fast because then the steering radius is larger and I don't have enough room.

But, as soon as the truck appears the dogs head for higher ground.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies guys.

What are the main issues with the Mini LST? I really like the looks of it, and the area's indoor that I'll be running it are a bit bigger, I can drive my 1/10 scale in there to put in in perspective, but the other half doesn't like how it slides on the floors (Just got them sanded and poly coated a month ago (1700 bucks) So I can't ruin them just yet) :p

I will be takin it out side also, doing a bit of jumping. The main thing I like about the MIni t is the price and that I'd get about 15-20 mins run time. But I could just buy some nice batts and a few things and get that outta the Mslt right? The main thing that turns me off the mini t though is the 2wd. I'd like it to be 4wd.

I'll reply the rest of my things i'd like when I get back but gotta run. Thanks guys.

Such as?

I know about the differential gears, but a couple buddies of mine have these, so I am glad to pass on infomation....

Go with the RC18T or MT. They will suit your needs the best. I had one of each but had to downsize cause the wife was getting pretty irritated.

the Mlst did have issues with the diff gears and wheel hexes both of those issue already have been fixed by Losi.. I run my MLst with a 2c 1900 lipo batteriers an I get around 15 minutes on a charge.. even with the Insane motors installed..

Lipo + Lipo charger = $$

if you got the $$, then by all means the sky is the limit. Just keep it in perspective when you are spending.

Here is a short list from mini-lst forum:
hey guys, the mini lst seems to be having lots of problems... i'm feeling bored so i just made a list of all the ones i've heard and read about.

1. differentials/drivetrain- can get upgrade kit

2. Sloppy steering- some people have noticed this- maybe this is true after some use.

3. Dogbones wearing out the out-drives- more than a few people have reported this

4.ESC fire- due to connectors- with stock gear (people reccomend changing it to deans but shouldnt losi have dont that in the first place?

5. bad wheel hexes resulting in cracked rims- fixed with updated hexes

6. Squeaky Shocks- that need topping off.

7. I've noticed some pretty deep scratches in the underside of the body, which show on the other side- luckily most are covered with stickers. anyone else had the same thing?

8. Lack of Grease in the gears/diffs- drivetrain- updated pack includes grease- but comon- even duratrax nicely lubricates their gears and diffs.

9. fragile antenna tube

Whether you have one problem or another seems all down to luck- i'm not all that impressed with the quality control. Most people just say to top off the shocks- or replace the gears, connectors etc etc, granted some issues are minor- but losi...WHY DID I BUY A RTR IF I HAVE TO OPEN UP THE DRIVETRAIN AND FIX THE GEARS etc BEFORE I CAN RELIABLY RUN THE TRUCK?!

anyways, hope this is helpful for anyone new to the truck, is there anything else?

I add
10. Ball-ends pop off often

11. Cheap brittle plastic knuckles.

12. Poor fit between axle and bearing

13. Trouble tracking in straight line relates to two.

Now the hexes have been fixed although they still arent the best.
As for the "updated" gears many people seem to still have issues with them.
