hey, i just purchased a used tamiya tnx for a second truck. and let me tell you, i was suprised to see the punch that it has right off the line. nevertheless, adding an aluminum tune pipe to my savage brought out the true monster in her. i'm constantly practicing on the track with them both to find out which one would suit me better as my primary race truck and the other as a back up. i can see where this is going, but i'm only looking for honest opinions from experienced racers!! :) thanks alot!

i had a tnx pro. on the track it totally dominates. i upgraded the steering servo, installed a mgt tank(or seal the primer) if the shocks are stock, replace them. after each use tighten all the screws on top of the aluminum chassis. the only problem i had was the stock rod ends kept popping off. i replaced them with original tmaxx tie-rods and rod ends. it made a big difference and the truck was great. in my opinion the tnx is a great race truck with alot of power right out of the box. again in my opinion if it came down to a savage or tnx for racing. the decision would be extremely easy. TNX. the only issue for the tnx is parts support. towerhobbies and ebay take care of that. currently i have a lst and am waiting for tamiya to come out with a race tnx with all the new goodies. while i'm waiting i'll go ahead and buy the revo 3.3 when it comes out. good luck

The TNX seems like a great bargain too, only $350 on Tower Hobbies, that's less than a standard T-Maxx, and you get a lot more performance and a bigger truck.
