EP1 Highlights –

First off, EP1 is built around version 3.00.430 of RealFlight. This version has numerous updates that are available for free online. If you haven’t updated RealFlight G3 already, installing EP1 will bring you up to this version. Included in this update:

• New Sky Ship blimp. Use the knob on the InterLink to control the direction of the fans.
• You can now import and export all custom files to a single .G3X file. This makes it easier to share your custom designs and modification without the worry of forgetting important files.
• For those that have any 3D modeling skills – they can now create aircraft completely from the ground up using a custom program available from Knife Edge Software.
• Automatic reset and reset delay after breakapart.

As for EP1, the sell sheet hits the most important features, but I’ll review them here as well.

• 18 new aircraft. (13 airplanes, 4 helis, and 1 flying lawnmower!)
o Aircamper
o BooRay
o Matt Chapman Cap 580
o F5D Pylon Racer
o FlatOut Cap 580
o FlatOut Flatana
o FlatOut Reflection
o FlatOut Turmoil
o Hotliner
o Lawnmower
o Nieuport 28
o U-Can-Do 3D
o X-29
o Yak-55
o Bergen Gasser
o Bergen Intrepid
o Miniature’s ION-X
o HeliMax MX400
• The flat foamies (FlatOuts) are a first for RealFlight.
• This is also the first time Bergen and Miniature Aircraft has made an appearance.
• 4 new flying sites
o Athletic Club and Practice Field are both PhotoField indoor sites – perfect for flying the FlatOuts.
o USAF Museum Field – Another PhotoField site, outdoors this time.
o Obstacle Course 2 – Like the Obstacle Course in G3, this one offers a variety of challenges. (Try flying the X-29 in chase view around the large course)

It’s important to note that EP1 will only work with RealFlight G3. It will not function with G2, or any other version of RealFlight. Because of this, we were able to take advantage of higher resolution graphics and better physics offered only by G3.

As you can see, there is a nice variety of aircraft, something to please everyone. And a mix of PhotoField airports and the 3D airport insures that it will function on lower end computers as well as top of the line machines.
