100wt? I hear quite a few people run 30wt for bashing, and even 35wt. I am going to run 30wt in my Savage basher.

If you jump high and land hard, you typically use a heavier weight oil. I run 45 wt. in my Revo, 37 wt. in my truggy, and 35 wt in my buggy. I don't know how heavy a Savage X is but my vehicles are all under 8 pounds. If your rig is really heavy, you'll need a heavier weight oil to provide dampening. What complicates this is the fact that you have 8 shocks. Try the 35 wt. and meduim springs and see if you "bottom-out".

so i'm assuming i need to switch to a heavier wt.? is there a special way to switch oil?i.e. cleaning.. or do i just dump it out and put the new wt in?
either one I dont think it that citical that you clean the old oil out unless your going from a10wt. to a 80wt. I use a 30wt. motor oil ,its a lot cheaper.

I'd go with 30 or 35 weight. If I remember correctly, I put 35 weight in my Savage's shocks last time I rebuilt them.
