Hello,
I have been toying with my truck in my parking lot and want take it up to the more weedy but larger back area of the property. I am however afraid of rolling it over since I will be able to go faster.
Can any of you tell me if you use roll cages? Do you suggest any brands? How do you go about choosing one?
Thanks,
Jorge

you shoudnt really need one if you run a body, but look for skeeze on the boards here. he does plasic roll cages that are actually very strong and should hold up to pretty much anything you can throw at it.

Thanks Tadium but if you roll over won't things start to break and bend like the shock towers? Those flimsy plastic bodies will just get mangled won't they? I don't mind running it without the body if a roll cage will protect the innerds! :)

i'd still get a cage for it and run the body, because if you can adjust it you could get it tight on the body and the 'innerds' won't be damaged and the body will still last
i had a website, i'll post again if i can find it that had cages for all different cars

Thanks. I found a cage that looks really tough although expensive - RC solutions: https://ssl9.secure-svr.com/rc-solutions-com/store_display_product.asp?iProductID=8. There is also another one that is probably as effective but not as cool looking but half the price: VG racing - http://www.vgracing.com/vgracing_estore/product_info.php?products_id=34

idk if you like ebay, but

it's only $20 and it'll fit on the e-maxx and is guaranteed not to bend

the bodys for the maxx are pretty strong. theyll bend, preventing them from breaking. as for the towers, you shouldnt be breaking them at all, but rpm has unbreakable plastic ones if you want to. to prevent the mounts from bending, just keep them as low as you can on the body and it will save them from being too mangled

hey badbanterer...
cool...looks like you went with the E-Maxx. have you done any mods to it yet?
IMO, I wouldn't worry so much about a roll cage...besides, if you run without a body, you run the risk of rocks or sticks or other junk slamming into the electrics, not to mention the increased exposure to dirt. The body does a pretty good job of protecting the "innards." Think about it...would you rather have just a skeleton protecting you from flying debris, or a shell that acts like a shield?
Just get yourself some of those RPM shock towers / body mounts like tadium54 mentioned...i've got them and they're holding up great (along with the other RPM stuff i have on my e-maxx).
Also, if you want a more durable body for the Maxx, check out the bodies by Pro-Line...they're made out of lexan that's a lot thicker than the one Traxxas uses for the stock body.

encores right. rpm stuff is great durability wise, and the proline bodes are indeed better than the stock traxxas ones
