hey guys. i have my stampede geared with stock gearing at 87spur/18pinion. my 13turn trinity motor gets very hot and melts the solder in minutes and the mesh is fine. (standard 6-cell pack). it seems to have too much torque and not enough top end.
also, if i take off the monster tires (masher2ks) and put on MUCH smaller road tires does it affect the gearing? does it become geared more for speed or torque in such a case? thanks!

gear it down man!
i would try maybe a 13-12 tooth pinion, 18 tooth is way too tall

Motor gearing thread for pedes! http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55556 Yes your way over geared! always start 2 teeth less than the turns your running then go from there. Start with a 12 or 13/87. also using smaller tires lighter tire will help to reduce heat!
