put after run oil in the carb opening, and glow plug hole, clean it well, take the wheels/tires off, take the shocks off (this prevents bad things from happening to your suspension) and store it in a cool dry place (not the garage floor)

Make sure you after run oil it and then turn the engine over providing how long you are putting it in storage for every 6 weeks turn the engine over and then re after oil it.
Also take the wheels of as with standing in a box the tyres are on the floor all the time and it will give them soft spots.Which means when you come to use the truck next time the wheels and tyres will not run true.
Also depending where you are going to keep the truck if it somewhere nice and dry then thats all you need to do really;
If the truck is going to be stored where cold and damp then remove all servos and battery holder as theses things do not do these things wonders after all they are electrical.

a light coat of wd40 will fend of rust if you are in a humid climate

the steel things inside can possibly rust, and rust is murder on a nitro engine, it takes 3 minutes to get it out put it and and put it back, your not doing anything else with that 3 minutes so you might as well ensure the welfare of your expensive nitro

You really don't need to remove the shocks, its just to much of a hassle. Instead, prop it up so that the wheels are off the ground, and that the springs aren't being compressed.

well, make sure all the gas is out of the tank and fuel lines
take out the glow plug, put in some after run oil
take the tires off, put it on the box and every couple weeks put after run oil back in the motor to keep it from rusting
just my 2 cents

its highly reccommended that you use the correct after run oil, your hobby shop will sell it for around $2-3 a bottle, and that should last you a long time, if you dont wunna buy it, automatic transmission fluid with marvel mystery oil (50/50 mix) will work good, even just regular ATF is better than nothing, some people use WD-40 but i would not advise that

You could use WD40 for know as a replacement to aro but i would not recommend doing this all the time a bottle of after run oil is 3.50 from the LHS and this will last you around 2 years.So i would prefer to spend 3.30 on a bottle of aro and 150 quid on a new engine
