Your local hobby shop should be able to order the turn fin from Horizon Hobbies. Here is the parts list (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/RelatedParts.aspx?ProdID=PRB2500&Category=Parts%20Listing) from Horizon Hobbies. You could try ordering direct from Horizon. The turn fin sells for $2.49. The local HobbyTown USA is selling the 1/12 scale Miss Bud and Miss LLumar for $299.99; with the local sales tax it comes out around $320. The O'Donnell 20% fuel is fine. Try an Octura Y535 prop or Octura M435 3 blade prop.

One thing to look at is the % of lubricant in your fuel. If it's less than 18%, either add oil or take it back (if you haven't openned it). Any lower lubricant level will seriously shorten engine life

Thanks so much 4 the info! I am totally new at this ,to be honest never seen one run (except on the small clips on web sites)nor owned a nitro rc.So i am for sure on the noobie list!!!!!!!I seen the boats for 299.99.But I thought they were .18 motors? This company claims this boat has a .21 3.5cc motor. So are these still the right size props? The closest hobbie shop near me is about 40 miles away so Im doing all my shopping and info getting all online. So THANKS FOR EVERY BIT OF INFO!!!!!!!!More would sure be nice though lol

I've seen them on eBay with a .21 transplanted into them. The installation wasn't the greatest in the world. I'd have other words to describe it but they like to keep the language clean in here.
The ProBoat Miss Bud's came with a Dynamite .15 in them so it is an upgrade on power for the boat.
The Prather 230 is way too large for it. A Prather 215 would work nicely or Octura props from X-437 to X-440 hoping that it isn't using the stock driveline.

You may have overpaid for the boat if it needed all of the work that you described. Usually an antenna tube is only a dollar but having the turn fin missing and who knows what else is what worries me.
I'm trying to remember which eBay that I saw them in recently as we've had discussions lately about some of the non-US ones like England and Australia where I may have seen them.
If you could post some pix it would help as I would recognize it if it were one of those converted ones. The exhaust system was to put it kindly, cobbled up.

I couldn't get through on the first link but the second one from eBay I could. I can't believe that they are mass producing that piece of work. It's so cobbled up it's not funny, an amateur job if I ever saw one. Seriously, using a servo arm to hook up to the slide carb is small-time. The ASP .21 (3.5) isn't really much of an improvement over a Dynamite .15. The exhaust system is a mess. The tuned pipe is too small and the length from the glow plug to the widest part of the pipe (the way that we usually measure pipe length) is way too long making the pipe not much more than a lousy muffler. If you got the Ace R/C radio system, it's not too bad for a cheap one. I have one and it does have a lot of adjustments and is comfortable to hold.
I usually fill my tanks through the line going to the carb.
It's not the ProBoat but a poor clone of it, typical crap coming out of China lately. I'd bet that Anheuser-Busch would like to know about this outfit but they're probably not worth suing.
There is a lot of junk coming out of China/Asia lately, you have to really watch your rear. Poor quality, outright lies in their ads and lotza luck getting parts when you'll need them.

well that was all bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For whatyou paid for it, you might be able to get your money's worth of fun or frustration out of it.
If the ASP 3.5 might accidentally put out enough power to turn a larger prop. That plastic one has to go anyway just to be on the safe side. If it has the metric (4mm) or 1/8" shaft on it, the largest would be the 535. A brass tubing spacer between the prop and shaft would allow you to put a larger one on. You'll have to tell me if you feel that it could push a bigger prop.
I hate to see people getting the shaft, especially new boaters who get suckered into buying some piece of crap boat that was advertised as going (a perfect example) 55-65 MPH out of the box on eBay when RCBM did a review of basically the same boat that topped out at a whopping 17 MPH. Go into eBay and you'll see as lot of ads for the Dolphin OB tunnel boat which used to be known as the ABC Hobby Laserline.
The problem with rip-off boats like this is that new boaters might assume that all R/C boats are like this and then we've lost another one. Unfortunately this hobby/sport is just like any other one, the more you can afford to spend, the better that you'll get.
For what it's worth, and it really isn't worth much, 'eBay' is the perfect place for misrepresentation. There are exceptions to that 'rule' but unfortunately, due to the lack of knowledge of the buyers, and honesty of the sellers, they seem to be the exception. Or more likely, I just have higher expectations than most buyers. I'm not the 'best' 'horse-trader' around by any means, so there are very few things I'm willing to bid on at 'eBay'. That's probably cuz I'm cheap!

:) I know where you are coming from. My first boat was the dolphin on e-bay. When I got it the servo that runs the throttle was stripped. I had to replace that first thing. It doen't go 40mph, maybe 20. I ended up getting the traxxas nitro vee and Iam really happy with that. As for the dolphin I am having fun with it and it help me learn about rc boats . Good luck jmcrooky :) :)

Well heres a little down scoop on the boat thus far.The boat has still not made it to the water yet.But so far the servos gave me problems with the mounting. And then the motor has been nothing but a pain in my a$$.But have got all that straighten up and then on my 4th tank of fuel on break in the motor mounts came apart from the hull and the motor tried to jump out thank god for the linkage. Also so far I have bought 2 props that neither would fit!The y-535 costed me $35.00 plus $8.00 shipping and damned if it didnt fit!!!!!!!!So I had also ordered a new prop from offshore elec..for my aqua jet it is the carbon fiber (440 i think?)anyway it fit the Miss Bud perfect with the sleeve. But I have a question I think the boat is the 3/16th shaft so what prop size should I try next?Keep in mind it has the .21 motor?SO BUYER BE WARE DONT BUY THE MISS BUD 1/12 WITH THE .21 OR .18 INFINITY MOTORS OFF OF E-BAY THERE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guy for all the help you have gave me especially you Ron you know your SH*T!!!!!!!!!! But is this the hobby for me Im beginnig to wonder and so is my wife the more money I throw down the drain! Also if anyone is interested I have the y-535 up for bid on e-bay starting at $25.00 it is professionally sharpened and balanced by offshore elec... Also a Prather B-230,not sharpened or bala..starting date of 4/23/06.

Thanks Dad for the words.
It helps to come into sites like this to ask questions before buying anything, especially if you're new to the hobby/sport. There are a lot of good boats out there but at the same time a lot of junk. After a while you learn how to pick apart a boat to find out what you like or don't about them. What I prefer may not be what you do. Bad boats can turn off a new boater in no time then we've lost another one because they'll start thinking that all boats are like this. I've owned a few doozies in my time when I got back into boats but had some truck and plane experience to fall back on.
For a person just starting out, it's really tough, trying to figure out what you want for power, hull style then whittling the list down from there. Too many people get into the "Golly, Gee Whiz" mode of certain boats because of what they represent not knowing about them at all. Look on eBay and you'll see them slightly used for a song. Some boats simply aren't for new boaters no matter how cool they are. There are boats that are great for first-timers, ones that have things that you can adjust to learn the basics of what does what and how changing that even just a little makes a difference in how the boat handles. Those are the ones that a new boater needs.

Hey Dad,
Dont give up on this hobby yet. Maybe go out to a local pond where a club meets if that is possible. See what the Gas and Nitro guys are doing. Racing might not be what you are after, but, the racers and club members can definately show you some boats other than the Proboats, the china boats, and what ever else is out there.
If you want easy Gas and go, maybe a stock Gas motor in a mono hull.
If you like the hydro stuff, maybe a sport Hydro, or scale boat like the Smokin Joes.
If you think that you want to race, maybe an Aeromarine XXX mono or a Lazer with full mod race engine.
All depends on what you want to do.
I am fartin around with an OPS .21 and the old 1/12 Miss Bud POS! trying to get it all mounted just to see it go. If it blows up, explodes and catches on fire at the other end of the Pond, all I can say is, I hope somebody had the video camera on. (As you can tell I kind of reallywant this to happen)
I learned the hard way. Bought 2 new 1/12 miss bud, have crashed both, bought a new Miss Lumar, Ok kinda fun. Bored with it. I have a Brand new Miss lumar hull with Fullers Fast Electric hardware w/carbon fiber turn fin and want to put the OPS 21 in it. If I could sell all of this stuff I would. Nitro is not for me. too much stuff to take to the pond just to get them started.
I race an Avenger and a thrunderbolt Sport hydro. Both are gas and fast.
Needless to say, dont give up yet. There are too many people in this hobby willing to help out just like Ron. Piper Chuck is a good source of information also. Keep plugging at it your hobby will come around for you sooner or later, the light will go on and all will make sense, to a point.  ;) :D
