Was wondering if anybody knows anything about Dumas motors. More specifically, the one supplied with the hardware hit for the ski-daddle jr. I have the boat about 2/3 complete and am beginningt the thought process of the initial set up. Was thinking of stock 540 motor and cheap ESC with hardware from Vac-u-boat (Was going to order a boat but didn't) was wondering if this set up would be any better than the dumas set up. Thanks, Jeff

I use have one of the ski daddle jr. boats. if you are running it on 6 or 7 cells any 540 or 550 will work well, depending on how many turs you use. it runs good until you push things, and if your like i am, you will, when you push this type of hull, meaning not much deadrise to speak of, it will hop, and gets worse as you push it, I put on aluminum trim tabs to help, I also put my rudder on the transon, not coming out the bottom, as the plans say. gives more room to play with the stuffing tube set up.I put my water pick up where the rudder tube was suppose to go, behind the prop. My initial set up was as the plans, solid shaft, i switched to a flex shaft and stuffing tube, this helps, you can bend tube to adjust angle, to stop the hopping, along with moving the CG aroung. I now run the 36'' ski daddle.. hope this helps
