Since you're new, did you ever own an RC before? If you haven't then go for the electric, but if you have, go for the nitro version of the Rustler. Both are great trucks and are offered as RTR. I suggest that you buy the kit and build the truck from the ground up. This will help you on solving future problems. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif Even though that they are offered as RTRs, ask traxxas (1-888-traxxas) or your local hobby store if they offer them as kits.

that was supposed to be 250 dolors not two dolors fifty cents. uhh thanks for the advise would you happen to know of any other good starter cars and no i havent had this type of rc car just the kind you buy at stores that take like 9.6v baterys and stuff but bougt one of these magazines and started saving up extra money, although I might be able to gain extra money from racing (gokarts.. dirt to be exact) you should get intrested in that stuff it pays great to have fun but it costs about $5000 to get started and then buy extra stuff but itl pay back for itself http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif well thanks for your advice

nitros are kool but they will bite your pockets if you dont know what your doing
do like I do study the fuctions and different aspect of the cars then go
and choose

electric are more user friendly but all this is my own opinion
I love elctric cars and I be buying my first truck gas truck soon it HPI thing what can I say I love them RS4 MTs 4WD with agilities of there Touring RS4 cousins

the rustler is one bad boy kick some but
rock em sock em parklot machine

when get try not have the shocks set so the truck has a low profile but not so low the arms aint parale to the ground k
cause if truck has to much ground clearence the parking lot will be
doing the "rock em sock em" to your truck when I try to nail real sharp turn

I speaking from experience I know it happen with my bro Traxxas Blue Eagle when he tried to run down my RC 10 http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

------------------
Warning this RS4MT can evade high speed persuits at 60mph 5 minute run hehehe you cant catch me

awww he all juiced out. I keep goin and going

If you run gokarts you should have some mechanical ability Right?
If so dont hesitate to go nitro .
I stayed out of nitro because people said it was too difficult, well I'm finding out that that is not so. It is more work, not more difficult, than electrics but you get so much more fun out of nitro.
From my short nitro experience with my Quake all I can say is if you get nitro ask lots & lots of ?'s and DON'T make more than one adjustment at a time to the engine. Go slow take your time break the engine in properly and that will cause less problems later. Keep it clean (that is after your done running it).
The Quake is a nice truck maybe take a look at getting one of these it is a little out of your price range but tons of fun.

LONG LIVE THE QUAKE!!!

Definately go Nitro. Quake is right, nitro is not more difficult just more involved. As long as you follow the directions that come with the car, you will do alright. I have both and Electric Protrax Rustler and a Nitro Rustler and there is absolutley no comprison. The electric is fun and fast, but the nitro is just a blast to drive fast, and I do mean fast!!! The downside is that I can clean up my electric Rustler in about 15 minutes. My Nitro Rustler takes almost an hour since the thing gets absolutely filthy and requires more maintenance. The fun factor cancels all that out though. Go Nitro!!!

I've never messed with nitro before but, I had just purchaced the electric Rustler RTR w/ESC and I love it. I've had that thing smash into everything know to man...nothings broke and it hasn't slowed down yet.
