I found this great little gasser at the Horizon Hobby booth at the Toledo show.

it looks just like a G-23 but it has electronic ignition and is lighter than the old engine. It is designed for the .60 - .90 size airplane market.
It's especially well suited for round cowl models like Hangar 9’s popular Corsair 60 and P-47D 60 and Hellcat ARFs. It has a lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy crankcase.

Specs

Benchmark Prop: APC 15 X 6 9500rpm

Hi Gerry,
Thanks for sharing this find. A very nice picture too, yours? That is real progress in the weight department, this has been my only beef with the great running G-26, it is mighty heavy for the power output. This one looks a bit more "purpose designed".
I hope you had a pleasant trip, Dave

Hi Dave, good to hear from you. Yes, I took the shot with the Nikon D-70 and I have to agree, this little engine looks like it has a lot going for it! I am hoping to get the Hangar 9 Hellcat soon and power it with this engine. I think it will be a great combo! An a lot cheaper to run than a glow engine too!
Cheers,
GY

Kinda pricey, I guess it would fit in a four star .60 then right?

I am not sure how big the firewall is for the Four Star 60. but the engine mount plate is 3 inches high by 3.5 inches wide. Distance from firewall to prop hub is 4 7/8 inches. We just got one in for review and the reviewer is running tests on it now with a few different props

I think it will be fine! I powered my Dave Patrick Super Cub with an OS 120 turning a 15x6 APC prop.

We're still waiting for the PUM version of this engine to come out for boating use. Can't wait.:)

PUM is the watercooled version of the Zenoahs that we use for boats. Here's an example of a Zenoah 26cc at home.

Just inquiring as I know the plane guys have a lot of insight on these engines.
