News report from associate editor Klaus Ronge:
The 3rd annual Electric Tournament of Champions was held at the Harrison R. Waite High School on April 6th and 7th in conjunction with the Weak Signals 52nd Toledo RC show. Due to the popularity of this event in past years, it was expanded to two days for 2006. The first day consisted of scoring known specific maneuvers and the top 12 finalists qualified for Friday’s finals. All of the pilots flew amazing 3D flights and many used variable pitch props to seemingly defy gravity. Jason Noll took top honors with his flawless routine. Quique Somenzini came in 2nd with his nicely choreographed artistic routine followed by John Glezellis. Benoit Dierickx came all the way from Belgium and was a crowd favorite for his unique routine. Judging by the crowd reaction and fantastic flying by these world-class pilots, the 2006 eTOC was a success!
