I have a novak 5.5 brushless system with gp3300 matched cells and I am wondering where people are getting their Mph numbers from ? Are they guessing ? Or is their a device in the car that calculates Mph ? I have a friend who is a police officer and I had him tag my RC10 TC-3 with a laser radar gun (72t spur / 22t pinion). And the car was only clocked at 32Mph. Is the radar gun wrong ? Becuase when Im backyard bashing and I put the 5.5 in my RC10 B2 buggy I am faster than my other friends' gas trucks. He has a nitro rustler and a revo and those are suspose to be faster than 32mph right ? Any help is greatly appreciated......Thanks

Most people who aren't just guessing strap a hand-held gps unit to the car. This morning I used this method to clock my Stampede at 47 mph. :)

Personally I use this one garmin E-trex (http://www.garmin.com/products/etrex/) , Works great.
Been through the war too. I would not hesitate to get another if this one took a dump. I have measured up to 55mph with this with no problems.

Something is wrong with the gun or your car the 5.5 system shoulnt have much problem hitting high 40's or low 50's. I had a Garmin Geko 301 and it went through hell, till one freak barrel roll while strapped to the roof of my tc3 at 60mph.

Is your batteries any good? The 5.5 should be going way faster. I have a 5.5 and I had really bad batteries and it was going about the same speed as yours. But when I strapped a 8000 mah lipo it was going like 45.

Ask the police man when the last time he's given someone a speeding ticket. lol
I've seen radar guns be off by quite a bit, especially at a speed pitch.

Thats funny speedybl . lol :) I really was thinking that there was some kind of interference with his radar. Because when he would turn it on it would mess with my radio. Maybe some kind of frequency issue ?? My batteies are in great shape and the car looked as if it could pass traffic. :)

GP 3300s are probably not enough for the 5.5 system. I mean, they'll probably do just fine, but you'll get more out of the 5.5 if you run GP 3700s, IB 3600 or 3800s, etc. The GP 3300s are probably struggling with amp draw possibly. The radar is probably off too.

These are not matched or anything but, $25 for 3800's cant be too bad. They have a deans plug already installed and deans 12 guage wire on them.
the 2nd item on page (http://promatchracing.com/garage.htm)
I have dealed with promatch and strongly recomend them.

As long as the motor seems punchy, your batteries should be fine.

I would just spend the extra money and get some lipos (8000mah). You'll then see the full extent of the system.

I use Eagle Tree MicroPower E-Logger to calculate the speed. I think the laser radar gun of your friend is correct. According to my test, the speed is about 37mph. Check my post in my local club.
