First time with an airbrush, lots of firsts - *56k Warning*

Well, this was my first time using an airbrush... Vega 2000. There were some very frusterating parts and some parts that I've known how to do. This is my 7th body ever and im 15.

I couple firsts that I tried on this body were:

carbon fiber
lettering (sorry Josh lol, I know they suck)
shadowing (even though you cant see it)
mixing paints

Masking: Hobbico Master Mask (worked GREAT with an airbrush!!!!!)

Colors used: (createx)

Blue, Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, White, and "Polly Scale" Stainless Steel

The flames were a breeze because I have been doing then on pretty much every body. Then I did the carbon fiber... THAT was sooo nerve racking omg. I tried it, and put the silver on way too thick so it looked like CRAP. But I acted fast and sprayed some thinner on there and it all whipped off. Then i tried again while making sure the lining was completely flat on the body so it would come out nice and crisp. It worked! Then I did the shadowing, but you cant see it because the base color turned from blue to dark purple when I backed it with black :( I dunno, I kinda like it now :) Then I finally did the lettering, and i was a complete retard because guess what, BLACK. So i had to pretty much guess where to make the cuts on the letters, so they kinda came out like crap. I tried to make them match my wheels, but it was the wrong yellow. O well.

If you have any constructive criticism and comments, i'd really like to hear some. I kinda figured out what i need to improve on next time, but id love to hear some comments!

That was your first time? WOW it looks great especially for a beginner. Next time try and do your flames a little bit sharper and more intricate even though those look frickin awsome good job!!!!!!! i have never tried airbrushing, is it hard?

Oh and you can see the shadowing under the flames :)

Looks great, especially for your age and first time with an AB.

Next time, cut the whole design out first, then paint. Then your lettering would have been done. Also, it looks like you had a little trouble pulling up the window mask, as we all do sometimes. To help with that, go light when painting & sealing the body around the window masking, not getting it to wet or thick. Wait 24 hours to cure and then pull it up slowly to minimize pull on the paint.

That it, I'm sure you'll have it down in no time.

If you cut the whole design first do you have anyproblems with paint bleeding through were you have already cut?

I definately looks different and better outside where you can see that it is actually blue. It looks great though for the first time airbrushing.

Nope, as long as you do light coats, you'll be fine.

ad,so if u do have like a multi design body,cut everything first?i read this in a faskolor booklet n it said the same thing n it said once u cut the liquad mask,it will almost bond back together to protect the design n when u are doen sprayn it makes it to peel up easier?

No matter what the design Fester, I always cut first. You can measure twice later. Lol

I use a Vega2000 as well and have been pleased with it. Very adjustable with three tips.
