I've been looking at props for my my boat to maybe play with a better combination for the water condition for my area. The water is some what choppy and my boat cavitates alot.It is the elec.hammer with stock prop.and the prop chart i've seen isn like reeding greek.to me . and i'm also interested in helping with picking up more speed when the water conditions are right. Can any any of you help with the translation on the octura prop chart?thank you.

it works like this, here's an example
a 1732 prop is 32mm, with a 1.7 pitch ratio (correct my termanology here guys). so, you multiply 32mm by 1.7 and that's your pitch.in this case 54.4mm. if you need to convert to inches, divide the final number by 25.4.
if the 1st number is a 1 (like a 1732), then it is a lifting prop, suitable for use on hydros to get the rear end up. if it is an x (like an x632), then it is a standard straight thrust prop. (to figure pitch, just replace the x with a 1...then it works like the example above).
other props...i don't know exactly what the "y" props are. "m" is modified...there might be others, but i can't remember at the moment.

Hi Mike
For your boat a X430 is about right . The X432 would work too but may be too much for the motor. Offshore Electrics has them ready to go. n.h.schmidt

Thanks for the reply.I'm also curious about prop placment on th shaft as for the water pisk up and performance ?placing the prop near the rear of the boat vs more toward the bow of the boat? Or should ithe prop be left in place as it was otb?
