I just ordered an HPI Sprint 2 RTR on road car and it is a 190mm chassis. I also ordered the HPI 68 Camaro body that is 200mm. Do any of you think it will fit good if I just use offset rims and possibly wider tires?? I ordered everything, but now I am not sure if it will all work.
How else can it be done??
Thanks!

mmm... keep the narrow tires, and do not open the wheel wells. Any of them. Voila! You have an awesome aerodynamic body. With some cool results. > top speed! THAT'S PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, I'LL POST PICTURES OF MY BMW FOR u AS SOON AS I GET HOME.

Using offset wheels works well, I do it often. Lots of the really good bodies only come in 200mm, or at least only look good in that width.
Most of the time I go for HPI 3mm offset wheels with 2mm spacers, giving an extra 5mm per side of width. If the tyre gets a bit close to the body esp. when steering, you can always leave out the 2mm spacers and it still looks right. Some of my examples:

HPI Skyline GT-R - this is 190mm but I used 2mm spacers on the rear only to get the track wider at the back.

Thanks for the pics!! In my order I also got 31mm tires with 6mm offsets. This will probably put the tires outside of the body, huh??
I am BRAND new with the on-road cars, so I wasnt sure on what I was getting. Oh well, this is how you learn.

Any problem with the idea of keeping the wheels covered or it just looks weird?

PocketAce, I like the idea!! I'm sure it does have benefits to aerodynamics. I think that if I found the right body to do it on, I would. I think this 68 camaro body would look too weird with the wheels covered. It definitely is something to try.
Thanks for the help!!

I put the Skyline body( like the white one in the above pics)on my TC4. I just plunked in some washers, it didnt seem to help at all. I will say that since its gonna get beat to crap if you race it why bother with the wheels!! If you can though would someone explain to me how offset wheels actually work(somebody said they just came with washers) And HPI offers some sort of wheel width adjuster for TC cars does this do the same job?

Offset wheels basically have their hex socket closer to the inside edge of the rim than a standard zero offset wheel. So the wheel sits further out from the axle. The spacers that sometimes come with them sit inside the hex socket to optionally increase the offset even more. The downside is that the car's axle hex engages in a shallower amount of the hex socket on the wheel, which can cause the wheel socket to round out if you are putting a lot of power through the car, with good traction.
It is better to use the proper hexagonal spacers and not round washers. Round washers don't support the wheel over the full hex area, so the wheel can wobble on the axle easily. You may get away with it though.

indeed, my friend. But until now the wing is managing to keep the car in line with no problems. I still have some tricks left... U know those vortex wheels? I won't use them, not exactly them, just asking if u know it. Then i message u later.

Mowstrap69, if you're racing under ROAR rules, enclosed wheels on that Camaro body are probably not allowed.
But if you're just messin' around on your own, it doesn't matter.
You could cut out the front wells, but leave the rears enclosed...

Or, figure out a way to leave both enclosed... where there's a will, there's a way...
