I just had a problem with my HV-Maxx brushless motor. The magnet seperated from the shaft and it was not under warrantyso i decided to try to save some money and glue it back together myself. I used JB Weld and it worked just make sure you put the magnet in the correct position on the shaft. So far i've run it five times and its holding great and no noticable balance issues.

One more thing, if the magnet is cracked or chipped i wouldn't recomend this as it might effect balance, fortunately mine was still good. You can get JB Weld at any autoparts store for around $5

Doesn't this seem to be a common problem for some of Novak's brushless motors? One fellow I know has had it happen twice, in a period of less than 3 months, both times Novak replaced the part, but each time it stopped his race day.

I've had no problems with either my SS5800 or my HV Maxx system. The magnets stay where they're supposed to be, and are just as strong as the day I first used them. I do need a new 5800 rotor though...(long story short, I bent the stock one trying to get a stuck pinion off  )

I've heard of problems like that with Novak setups, more with the SS5800 when it first came out. I bought my SS5800 in October 2003 and it is still going strong. :)

I just had the magnet come lose on my 6.5 HV motor and I wonder if I call novak if they will replace it?? I just got it back from novak because the esc started to smoke after the rear bearing in the motor failed!! :o

Might as well try calling them, they have good customer service. If it's not free, at least it probably won't be too expensive.

If you still got the warranty, i'd go that route. I didn't have that option, I also had a Lehner 1200XL do the same thing, JB Weld saved that one as well
