looking at an older but like new 7.5 lap cat II wooden construction sharpened turn fin on the bottom ,complete 2 channel futaba magnum jr radio with 3 servos.like new 7.5 k&B outboard.
everything looks excellent and new.
it's older gear but i think it's had after run and everything looks very good.
apparently it was hardly used and really does look it.
he is wanting 300.00 and it's a local pickup= no postage.
thanks a lot

doesnt' sound too bad to me. as long as the hull looks strong and straight. those engines are worth that alone when they are new. i still run a futaba junior in my 3.5 tunnel, and it works great. you could always try to talk the seller down a bit (couldn't hurt right?), but i don't think 300 is unreasonable.

boat dock
that's the talked down price.
i have been tossing between a 3.5 and a 7.5.
i was thinking for that price i could always put the motor and radio in a newer
more efficient hull.
are parts still readily available for the k&b7.5 and 3.5
does the 7.5 require a lot bigger area of water since they are probably
quicker.
I have only run a nitro hammer and have been following the posts on the mean machine and the top speed2

personally, i would say go for it. like you said, you can always put the gear into another hull later. if it doesn't already have one...get an adjustable motor mount. i think both prather and octura make them, it'll put a :D on your face.

A wood Lap Cat? I've never seen or heard of one as Prather has only used epoxy-glas hulls for as long as I can remember.

it is fibreglass and i had it working real well on the 15% nitro can't wait to get some 40%, but the pond might not be large enough.
oh well there are more ponds around.
