I know that ideally it's good to have FM radios for BL systems, but I've read that several people are using am radios with the GTB with no glitching problem.
Is there anyone here running specifically with a futaba 2PL and a GTB?

I ran a Airtronics Blazer (27mhz AM) with my GTB for a few days while my other radio was out...it ran just fine with no problems at all.

Thanks for your input.
I have also heard a few people using the GTB with no problem, but I'm trying to find someone with a setup as close to mine as I can. BTW, my Futaba 2PL is running on 75mhz (channel 72).

Thanks! I just received my GTB system yesterday and I found out that it's working fine too, like yours.
I do get a little glitching after about 130ft but it's only a little less distance than what I was getting with my brushed combo (about 150-160ft before glitching then).
I'd be really interested in comparing ranges since you have the same setup. What kind of glitch free range do you have? Are you using a 75mhz receiver and crystal?

Im on channel (72) 75.630 - (75mhz) and I havent had a glitching problem yet. However I race my car out in the country or in a high school parking lot. So im sure there is less interference out there. I believe a 1/10th scale quarter mile is 132 ft and we go well beyond that all the time with no problems. Maybe even double that. Your gonna want to make sure that you run your wires neatly and keep them up off of the chassis. Especially the antenna wire. Because believe it or not a composite chassis will act as an antenna. Which means that you will pick up other frequencies from farther away. I use small zip ties for the wires. And very thick double sided tape to keep the reciever off of the chassis as much as possible. Anyways sorry it took so long for me to reply. Ive been racing quite a bit. I hope this helps. Good Luck.....

Thanks, what a coincidence, I'm also on channel 72. :)
I increased my glitch free range by moving the receiver even farther away from the ESC. Now I'm getting a good 160ft glitch free but since I'm running on the streets I'm a little apprehensive of going farther in case something happens... I wouldn't want my 4.5r buggy to suddenly go nuts at full speed on the streets 200ft away from me. :)
I'll try it up on a large parking lot one of these days.
Thanks again for the comments, they have definitely been helpful!
BTW, do you know what kind of time you are getting on the 1/10th quarter mile? (running your 5.5 in a ST? buggy? TC? since you have a futaba 2PL and you say you run mostly in the country (offroading then?), there's a good possibility that you are running an evader? If so, that'd be a second coincidence since I also have an evader :) , a BX pro)

Great. Im glad to hear that your problem has somewhat been solved. Im sure you could go farther depending on where you are. BTW- Im running an rc10 B2 offroad buggy. And Im not sure what kind of times Im getting in the 1/10th 1/4 mile, cause we just line them up and race. However I am faster than the rc10 gt though. Let me know what kind of times that you are getting though and i will check mine next time we are out. Thanks
