What LIPO to get??

I am wanting to get some lipo batteries for running a t4 on carpet with a 10 turn mod motor.(going to novak 6.5 or 5.5 soon as i sold my 5800). I already have a duratrax ice charger... Question is where to get the packs and what packs to buy. Need some help here guys. Also safety is a mild concern. List any cutoffs, balancers, ect. that you think i will need. (i have no idea what to buy and dont really have time to research it.)

I run the team orion li-po with a 10 turn motor in a b4 and it's fast as hell, about 30% faster then nimh or nicd and it handles better too. I'm gona sell it soon so i can go hi voltage brushless though.

Team Orion LiPo's are great and I have had success with the Scorpion LiPo packs on a BL TC. The Scorpion packs need their own charger though.

My only problem with the Team Orion is the balancing. They are a 2s2p pack and I can find no info on keeping them balanced. So that one worries me. FMA has some nice complete systems but you are stuck with their complete setup. Scorpion or the Balance Pro HD. They have all the safeguards that you need.

Otherwise I have had good luck with Polyquest. And I know some people with Thunder Power.

Man that is alot of money though. I went with maxamps 2s2p 6000's. I charge and balance them then hook them together for a 4s pack when I want it, and use one in my ST on 2s. They are a deal also at $80.

If you get the 6.5 motor, the Maxamps 6000 is the best deal around right now at $80 ! I wouldn't want to run much hotter motor than that on it though. If you want a pack that can handle anything you can throw at it, get an 8000. Either the Maxamps for $130 or for $25 more, the Thunder Power which are, in my opinion, the best you can buy.

Im going for a Maxamps 6000 7,4v. Wondering what balancer and charger works fine?

Would this charger be fine? Then all i need is a Balancer.

That charger works, but you won't be able to charge at 1C, so charge times will be slower than if you use a charger that can charge at 6amps. For a balancer, you can use the Hyperion LBA6 balancer on Maxamps website, and for that you would want to check the box for the Hyperion LBA6 taps on the battery purchase area.
