like my T2 that will be here monday or tuesday, fk05 will be history after tomorrow. Grady is supposed to be there tomorrow and is supposed to drive the fk05( he will be the new owner). I will drive the green T2R with the 4 cell 27t motor and next week I'll be back to the brushless in the T2. I put a new motor in the green car and have a new 4600 pack, so I will have to "idle " around to keep from running away in the main. hahahahahahahaha Laters

We had a little trouble with the scoring software, but we managed.

I think we had 9 TC, 6 VTA and 3 mini's.

We ran 2 quals and a main (TC & VTA), but no main for mini's due to incoming rain and a slow start due to the software troubles.

I THINK finishing was:

TC - (1) Will, (2) Mitch, (3) Derek

VTA - (1) Tim, (2) Manny, (3) Bob

I had a good time Sunday, I think I was 3rd all day, :huh: I know one thing, I don't like driving a brush car after running brushless,, YUK!!! Anyway, my T2 showed up and other than some asphalt wear on the bottom, excellent deal !!!! The brushless system from the fk05 will be going in it and all should be good for Sunday.

He's running a 96/54,, and we had to dremel the front of the motor guard.
a 87/51 gives you 4.30 exactly, and shouldn't have any issues.

My bad, it was a 90/51 that is a 4.30, With the 96 combo it had the motor all the way forward so the 90 should be just fine, He tried an 81/something but couldn't get the gears to touch

Hey Tommy, man I had my hands full all day. I had so much horsepower, that car was a rocket. :driving: I could only drive it half throttle. When I got home, I looked at my radio setting, I changed the curve on the throttle but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm also going to change my setup because what I had on the car was not working. I'm going to go for a mod setup.

Good run Manuel, I thought that I had that win in the bag. I had fun in that class. When I finally get another car, I will build a VTA car.

Pre race on Saturdays at Durham for the Carolina Classic. The traction has changed on the track as well as the texture. Get to know the track b4 race day, it not an easy track to drive due to certain areas of the track.

Also check out the aluminum parts on your TC5 and see if any of them are bent. I had a motor mount and left rear bulkhead bent, (just replaced them today). I was wondering why the old car wasnt handeling as well as the new one with the same setup. I guess all that abuse adds up after a while. Alot of people are going to Durham Sunday, will the Fayetteville track even be set up?

Hey Tommy, I found a great new way to secure a lipo battery in the TC5. 1st use 2 sided mounting tape to hold the graphite battery strap to the battery and then use heat shink tubing(the kind for 6 cell Nihm packs) and shrink it over the strap and battery. Cut 2 holes for the power connectors and your good to go. No more drilling or cutting involved and no more over tightening the thumb screws and tweaking the chassis. :D

Sorry for the "late" reply, but I am back on nights for a month.

The race is in King,NC at King RC.

The track is a "parking lot" track that is layed out that morning behind the shopping center.

From Fayett. I am guess its gonna be about a 2hr trip. Its Just north of Winston Salem off of highway 52.

The guy that puts this race on is a Multi-time ROAR and NORRCA national champion. So no fear of the show not being great.

FIrst race of the year he was there at 4am Pressure washing the track area and laying out the track for us to race on that day.

I can't recall what time racing starts but I know I got there about 8am set up my stuff and I think we started at around 11-12.

You will need a Table, chair, Canopy and a long extention cord.

There is a HUGE panel box off the back of the store so a genarator is not needed, but if you would like to bring yours feel free to do so.

Hope to see lots of faces there tomorrow.

Hey Will I'm not to sure about the Speed Passion speed controller. But when setting up the LRP TC contoller, during the setup with the radio the motor beeps. Check the instructions again it should tell you.

Man I haven't raced in awhile, got a new car with one race day on it. But, I will be out there next weekend. May just bring it with me sunday when I drop off my daughter, so that I can test this setup.

Hey Bob, we made an atempt to race. But at the start of the race it started to rain. But we hung around until it stopped. Once the sun came back out, the track dried up. It took about 35 min. We pulled the cars back out and had 2 rounds of pratice. We did like a 2 A main run. Mitch won the first one and Donnie won the second one.

Manny; thought I would make a comment to you here instead of on the Carolinas TC thread... I will try to get down to Fayetteville to race with you more often. I really enjoy racing VTA with you and all the other FMRC guys. I really think what FMRC has in Fayetteville is terrific. It is grass roots RC racing fun (which is also how I feel about VTA) with a good group of people and a reasonable cost. But Sundays are sometimes a little tough for me to make.

I don't think I will be at King on Saturday and I doubt I will go to Easley on the 23rd (5 hour drive for me), but I will try my best to make it down to Fayetteville this Sunday so you can get another shot at me on your "home" track.

Hey guys,(and gals) what say we come up with a race rules/guidelines sheet we can pass out to all competitors ? Those of us that have raced for a while and know the deal, it will just be something for the paper weight to hold down, but maybe it will help the people who are just getting started. I am talking about the standard rules/guidelines, nothing unique to fmrc, the stuff that is used all over, know what I mean,, jellybeans? I guess what ticks me off the most is turn marshalling, or lack of by some. anyway, let me know.
