sunday as in fayetteville.

heh, Id trade that top shaft if youd trade the c-hub suspension for my pillow balls... :)

and if youre coming out, you can use the saddle packs I have as extras. but i dont think anyone out here would be crying too much if you used those lipo's.

Had fun today guys. Even though the main was one big cluster!! haha. I have the whole loose car thingy figured out. Now my car pushes. Well now you guys have met Justin. He is one fast kid. George and I have to teach him to slow up so we can have some fun close racing for everyone to watch. But the kid just wants to win.. and he did.. hehe....

Chris... I thought your car smoking was cool!!!! But sorry that it was at your expense!! :D Remember.. start around 7.0 final.... not 9.... You are over rev'n the motor during the whole run.

Anyways, small turnout. But it's vacation weekend. Justin and I won't make it next weekend. We'll be in NewJersey for the Express Race on Saturday. And the TCS race on Sunday. So we'll catch yall next time. Had fun. Hope everyone else did too. L8Rz

I have an old XXX-S that I was going to try and breathe some life into. Can this car be competitive on asphalt. I have only ever driven it on carpet, and that was a couple of years back. I hate to buy something carbon fiber, and then just tear it up on an outdoor track. Also are you guys running stock in touring car, 19T, or what?

Squintz
07-06-2006, 10:48 AM
You should be okay with the xxxs out in the lot. I won't buy an expensive car to run out there. Most of us run Stock motors 1 or 2 guys run a Novak 4300. Bring a 19turn tho if we have enough interrest Im sure we could make a class. I know I wouldn't mind throwing in a 19T :).

I am originally from Seattle, and did a lot of racing there, but I also spent about 6 years in Germany. I used to race against Marc Rheinhard when he was just a little kid. He was disgustingly good then too. His father used to run the premier RC facility in our region of Germany. It had indoor and outdoor asphalt. That was several years ago though. I have mainly been running off-road for the last couple of years.

I will definately come out and run with you guys once I get to Bragg. I should be there in about 6 weeks. I am currently in Kuwait. I leave here in 26 days. I look forward to running with ya'll.

If all goes well, Fred will be buying my T1 next week.(its not a T1R, btw. they have a plastic chassis and c-hub suspension, mines carbon-fiber with pillow-balls) and I'll have enough to buy another servo saver. Yes, Im that broke right now; too poor to pick up a tiny 6-dollar piece of plastic from Hayes.

Ft Lewis, I've been here at Bragg for almost 6 years. Probably be living in Olympia.

Brad

On-road is pretty scarce in the south end. There is some parking lot racing at Fantasy World which is about 15 mins from base. There is a great indoor offroad track about 15 mins from base. Tacoma RC Raceway. They have a good thread on RCtech.net. Indoor on-road is either carpet at rain city which is way up north, at least 1.5 hours to drive, or you can run indoor asphalt at SIR. It is located in North Kent (45 mins). They also have a good thread on RC Tech. I drove up to rain city a few times, but the traffic in Seattle is so horrible, that you won't want to do it very often. I suggest you buy an off-road and start running at TRCR. It is the best thing for weeknight racing near Ft. Lewis. SIR is a fairly new facility, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews about it. They say it is world class, but I have never personally seen it.

You will love Lewis by the way. It is a great base. Where are you headed? Stryker Brigade?

Good luck to you too. The guys at TRCR are a good group. There are several world class drivers there. The owner Scott Brown has been in the A main at a couple of world championships. He doesn't race much at TRCR, but when he does, it is a sight to see. The other really fast guy is Chris Bridgewater. He goes by teambighead on the RCTech boards. he works at the track and is also very fast. He is sponsored by Team Losi and Orion last time I talked to him. Scott has been an Associated team driver for years, so you can always get good set-up info from either. TRCR also has really good prices in their hobby shop. I never mail ordered anything while I was at Lewis. Enjoy the Northwest.

I'm not trying to start any bragging wars or whatever, I just like reading this kind of thing. Brand names are in the order of most popular for the curious. And only the mains were counted.

I only wanted to use the times for the current track layout, but theres still a few qwirks in it, I think (mainly in the nitro tc class)

Hey SerpentKing, I like what you did. It Let's everyone know where they stand with the current layout. There are some close times, I see that I have to pickup my pace to beat what I have already done.

I pitched that idea to him a while back, but we all know how well that went...I edit the last post and added what I knew though.

I hope that if we start doing it, some of the guys that came just once come back so we can fill in some more blanks.

Question for ya. Is this the best run main? Just curious because I know Justin got 25 laps in a qualifier. But not the main like I have done. Also, his car is a Schuey MI2EC.

And also, I think that was a cool idea too. Maybe I can ask our track to post one up as well.

sweet!!! ya, i lost a wheel at the 03 nats in durham! the spec rims had a built-in "spacer" lip that year. guess to make the cars wider. anyhoos....it was my best heat of the week-end. Jun asked what car was i running..i told him pro3. he was like "man that car runs pretty go--" PLOP!!! wheel fell off!!! LOL!

BTW....anyone looking for an entry-level TC? got an Xray T1R complete! it's got a duratrax 8T speedo, a 10x1 flatwire, G6 body, Fantom stock motor, integy 3600's, Futaba Ms radio, servo, 64p gurs & foam tyres. asking $180.

The car was working but I needed a little more steering. I sold my Tc-3 to my friend, so everyone will see it again. :D But It won't have the chrome look. Does anybody have a cheap speeed contoller for sell? He needs one. Let me know what you got. Well let me go and take something for this cold that's try to get me. I caught it from my daughter. just do minor changes to the car at a time that way you don't go a huge direction one way or the other and you will be able to document the change and the result

Hey we are moving on up. :) Concrete corners, I hope that there the nice rolling one's. They should save a lot of front end damage, plus it will make the corners more visible.

Hey Chris, I haven't talked to him. But I did ask his girlfriend if he had the car running. She said that he had this grin on his face ,so I guess that everything works. I'm going to call him later. Hopefully he will come out and race sunday.

Hey Tommy, how's the setup coming on the car? I'm going to be testing also, I don't think that I'm to far off from what I'm looking for. Hey Chris, I might run the 1/12th some just to get use to it.

cool I need something to run this Sunday the new car isnt in yet

we have built a drivers stand so that is one improvement we got done this week

for all the worry about the concrete they are similar to the plow disk many tracks use they just weigh more thats all so don't worry to much about them

Awwww, Chris, you should have let them think you were going to put concrete blocks out there....Talk about carnage!!!!!!

Hey Tommy B.,,, if you haven't got a handling reference yet, got to team losi's website, click on links, scroll down to "other rc related sites" and find the handling link, covers aero, suspension, adjusments ,pretty much every thing in the boook I paid for, just free... Later

Guys,I would'nt put too much into this set-up stuff.I bent my chassis last Sunday while warming up,and I just put it over my knee and pulled it back some.It was bent so bad that after the main I took the body off and it would not fit when I tried to put it back on!!!Car worked pretty good in the main too,Had my best 6min run yet!A little "kick-up" in the front like a 1/8 scale buggy might be the hot ticket!!Oh yea,one more little tip, extend your radio antenna all the way out before you get on the back straight and pull the trigger on a nitro car! :o

WOW!!!! A drivers stand also. :D It will definitly help with the lines on the track. Chris,I'm going to try and make it out early so I can work on the 1/12th setup. So far there's nothing in the way, but you know how last minute things come up.
