90 what?
OK brushless owners and future brushless owners,, At this point in time we are running 2 different brushless motors, both Novak, 13.5 and 4300/10.5. The 13.5 is a stock equivalent and the 4300/10.5 is a 19t equilalent, per Novak. I know, "It says stock on their website" , That was the original description from a couple of years ago, look on the other pages and it clearly states the 4300/10.5 = 19t. Now if we are to be fair about this, the 4300's need to go. I did email Charlie at Novak before posting this to be sure about what I was saying. In technical terms, if it is rated at more than 3000kv(rpm/volt) it is not a stock equivalent. :teacher:

Bob you just opened up a can of worms. :D

I took the brushes out of one of my motors and it won't run at all. ,I can see where there won't be any comm wear and less friction to slow the motor.but will someone clue me in on how to make it run  .
E-LST
04-14-2007, 03:37 AM
No D. just a can of delta and wye's :D All I'm saying and it's based on facts, is that running a 19t with the 27t motors isn't quite fair. I'm not saying this because those cars are faster than mine, in fact on the odd lap that I drove it anywhere close to right, my cars was as fast. But what happens when they go to a race, say the june 2nd race at goldsboro and put their car down and do well then get dq'd for the wrong motor?? What would be said if, if say, Steve, was running a 19t motor and people knew it? I think someone would bring it to his attention as to being the wrong motor, Right?
well bob those running 4300s I have talked to and they are going to make the switch to 13.5 just give them some time on all will be fine `

E-LST
04-14-2007, 01:58 PM
Well,,,, Tommy,, ya gotta put a 3rd wire on the motor, and run it to somewhere aroud the speedo and hope for the best :D

You also need Novak's flux capacitor (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKKN2&P=7).

I may fire up the nitro car, I have been working on it this week. Just bought a new throttle servo for it. Now if I can get the front bumper to work for me, I'll be ready.
I talked to Allen at Hayes today. He told me that A challenge had been layed down with another hobby shop. I don't know if everyone knows Skip, he use to have a hobby shop on Ramsey street in the early nineties. Anyway, he has that hobby shop on hwy 53 near Tony's old track. He has built a offroad track behind the shop. The challenge is, he wants to put his guys up against Allen's guys. The losers will have to buy the winners pizza. From what people have said it's not too big, I think that it's scale is more for 1/18 scale. But they can run 1/10th scale on there. I'll probably go investigate more tomorrow when I get off. I would love to dust off the old buggy for a offroad race. :D

Hey Tommy B., how do you like that brushless? :D

05-02-2007, 10:37 PM
Derick,Tommy B. got a bad knock-off of a 13.5 brushless off of e-bay.Someone took a 540 mabuchi, painted it and wrote 13.5 on the side of it.the picture on e-bay must have been convincing enough for him, cause he plunked down his cash for it.[sucker].........I on the other hand got one from a reputable seller,I like it,just taking alittle time to get used to the way it makes power compraired to brushes...Don't kid Tommy B. too much,he was alittle ashamed of his purchase.[he was "punked"]

Hey Chris, I talked to Steve B. tonight. He asked me when we were going to start racing again. I told him we never stopped. :D SO he is suppose to call me later this week so that I can help him with his 12th scale. I found a setup for that car that actually worked. I wrenched on it all week, and it felt stable. I ordered my part to fix the Yoke. I made sure that I ordered 2 this time. I could have sworn that I ordered two last time.

John,I don't know if Chris' comment about your "style" is a compliment or not,he says the same thing about my paint jobs................................You guys with tweak tools can just throw them away,my 1/12 scale has been glued to the track and after checking it over last night, I found that the tweek screws were not even touching the chassis,go figure?????????????
great more 12ths the better we had 5 last week and missing one so wow if he shows up thats 7 and tring to get richard to bring his too then that makes 8 nice class then

So we are going back to 19 turn motors in 12th scale. I might keep my stock in. I'll probably have more luck with it. I'm going to try to get up with Steve B this week, Hopefully he will get out there this weekend. 5 min qualifier, 8 min main sound good to me.

I just wanted to get through the first couple of turns before I had to drive hard. I'm still trying to find the right gear ratio. The last ratio that I tried before the main was better than it had been all day, but it can be better. I have an idea about what to run. Joseph was good, I like close racing, but that's alot of pressure for a 5 min run. There's no room for error.

Are we racing Sunday? I read a lot of the guys may be going to rosewood. I prefer to break my parts locally. That way I dont have an hour drive home to sulk about it.

I think if I actually bothered to look for parts, I couldve ran the A. :o Part was just laying there in the box.
But then, I mightve got "Steved" and be back where I was.

Maggotracing the TC 5 would be fun to drive if I could find some parts for it, really ups the pucker factor knowing that it's just a bad turn away from being an expensive paperweight. The battery shifted into the belt system and broke a solder joint in the impact. I'm ready to try again this weekend after a small mod I made to keep the battery in place. If anyone is interested I'm going to sell a TC4 no motor or ESC with a Futaba radio for $150.00. Contact # is 910-578-3328. :)

awesome idea, forget transponders. :D
I couldve taken some myself, but i was thinking with that many people taking snapshots, there would bound to be a few in the net without my help.
You know, non-thumbnail sized ones.
well I will start bringing mine with me so that I know how to resize them and stuff well cant wait till Sunday can you? It should be even more great racing
Great News We Ordered Transponders Today They Will Be Here For The Race On The 22nd
