Ron Zee
06-23-2007, 05:41 PM
If you don't want to use a bridge, if you put the loop on a straight, you can hold it in place on the ground with a few strips of duct tape. something to think about if people start bitchin about their antenna tubes getting ripped out by the bridge.
Wish I could make it there, but 1, I'm not sure how to get there, and 2, ended up with the family thing to do tomorrow. Funny how my plans can get changed but others around don't get theirs changed.
well ron the big problem with the tape deal is that we run 1/12th scale that wouldnt be a very good transition for them well I hope you can make it next week for ourt trophey race Jimmy can tell you how to get here

Great racing once again!....................................(I have a white-haired old man with a white TAO5 (Big Al) that I will gladly give to someone that would like to take him under their wing)
ok after this weekend I have to say I think that we have about the most competitive racing racing around not to say we have the best racers but we are all very close at least the top 10 or so that makes it the most fun I think and not to put other tracks down I think other tracks are close but maybe the top 5 or so are close I just think we are deeper in the area of drivers running about the same what do you all think am I off base on this and I am not wanting to hear degrading remarks about other tracks becouse it is great to have places to race and we need all of them well we will see you all on Sunday!!!!!
Whiskey 1
07-03-2007, 11:36 AM
Chris I agree with you. The races are always a close battle each week between us and as long as we keep helping and mentoring the new arrivals it will only get better. We just need to remember its just racing and not take anything personal that happens on the track. I really like the transponders and the feedback we get from them. By the way are you a little color blind? You kept anouncing a gold car and I lost lap times during the race looking for it coming up on my green one. (I'll take any excuse I can get!):D See ya this weekend.
yes manny I am color blind so it is green? sorry bout that I hope I wont make that mistake again
Da Skills
07-03-2007, 04:08 PM
Yeah Chris, I think that we have some of the closest racing here. At anytime anyone can win the A-Main all it takes is one mistake. And the newbies are catching on fast which makes it even better.

JimmyMac
07-10-2007, 07:12 PM
Why must you pitstop to change transponder? Just curious. Does the lap counter software know this? Or are you talking about 3 drivers. 3 separate cars. So you must change transponders from 1 car to the next for each team? Just curious. I've always wanted to do an enduro race. I wonder if Glenn will let us run one on an off weekend.... Hmmm...
Da Skills
07-10-2007, 07:36 PM
Hey Jimmy, yeah 3 drivers, 3 separate cars. Each driver has to come in to the pits and trade out the transponder. It will come down to who can get their transpnder in the fastest and get back on the track. They did a test run on sunday and it's going to be fun. It's going to pair good drivers with average drivers. Then again a team might have 3 good drivers paired up. It will come to down to the names being picked out of the hat. I believe that they turn 53 laps in 20:01 and the team consited of 2 good drivers and 1 average driver.
JimmyMac

I tried a second esc and the motor does the exact same thing, so it must be in the motor. It rattles like a bearing is busted but who knows. $60 and novak will send me a new motor with sintered rotor and orange timing ring. Thanks Bob for the esc.

Hey Manny, never mention that word R---. Bam just go back to what made your car handle. A setup that works for someone else may not work for you. Everyone has a different driving style and most of the time the car is setup to the way that they drive. So go back to what was working for you.
So who will win the money this week? and who will make a move in the points race? questions to be answered on Sunday

Hey Chris, instead of notching the long pcv pipes to insert and fasten down with a screw on the cow bells, how about we notch the insert that we use to link the PCV pipes together. That way we can place them where we want and the track remains together after I crash into it.
I've got a rotary cutter I can bring this weekend to make the insert modifications.

Hey Guys, I'll admit It, I had luck on my side, and the Derrick V/S Terrell grudge match helped alot. Next time I have to earn it. The car is doing it's job and since I told William that I was thinking of firing my driver, Maybe he (ME) got his act together. Every dog has his day, and I had mine. I may be there Sunday, the wife is waffeling about going to the beach.

Hey William, look at the Mini Cooper info I found here at : www.rc-mini.net
MINI FOR DUMMIES
OK, this is the info you wanted. No pictures, no ********, just the facts.
We'll assume here that you want to build yourself a competitive race M03, and dont want to waste money on unnecessary items that wont make you go any faster. Follow our guide here for the simplest and fastest way to victory lane.
Stage 1 - The Basics - START HERE Start with an M03M Suzuki Swift kit. Its the best overall value for money - No questions, its just the way it is. The M03R is more a show pony. If you want the full run-down check out our full review elsewhere.
Bearings - You'll need 2 - 8 x 5 (850) and 4 - 11 x 5 (1150) These are for the transmission. It comes with wheel hub bearings standard.
Shocks - 50746 Super Mini Oil shocks. Get them, you dont need alloy ones, these work just fine. And the kit oil is FINE!
Springs - 53333 Tuned Spring set, or the 53440 Tuned Spring set. You need them to enable you to drop the ride height far enough.
Thats it, you do not NEED anything else. Thats really all you need to go fast with a Mini.
Stage 2 - I have some cash left over still.... Diff - 53267 Ball Diff. You dont NEED it, but lots of people prefer it.
Unis - 53597 Assembly type Universals. These are pretty good. We like em.
Pinion - 53509 Hardened Pinion. Its tougher and doesnt 'go italic' like the standard one.
Shocks - 53571 TRF Shocks. They dont really make a difference on a Mini, but DAMN they look cool.
Stage 3 - My Granny died and left me some money on the proviso it was spent on my Mini Roll Bars - 53343 Anti-Roll Bar set. Some swear by them, some at them. You choose.
Output Shafts - 53217/8 Hardened Output shafts. Last heaps longer than original.
Turnbuckles - 52527 Titanium Turnbuckles. For the steering. MUCH stronger.
Carbon Shaft - 53390 Carbon Gear Shaft. It's your money....They dont do a THING.
Heat Sink - 53344 Motor Heat Sink. Feel free to buy one, just dont actually think that it does anything.
OK, thats it in a nutshell. Tyres and setup and stuff you can find elsewhere on the site.
WHICH IS BETTER? OK, THE question that seems to get asked 10 times a week on every forum and Message Board is "Which car is better?" and "What are the differences?" We get a little tired of typing the same info all the time, so here it is...
The drivetrain and basic chassis are EXACTLY the same on M03 SWB, M03M and M03L. Front to back, identical apart from colour. The difference is only in length. SWB is 210, MWB is 225, LWB is 240, and any of the chassis can be made into another with the addition of the appropriate chassis spacer.
Some people will tell you that they handle differently, they don't really. Its purely personal preference, nothing more. Any handling differences are no more than you can alter yourself through set-up. There is NO significant difference.
Which car to buy? Unless you have a serious Mini Cooper fetish (not a bad thing in our eyes) go for the 58368 Swift M03M kit. Why? It has important upgrades in the suspension area. New front knuckles and C hubs (stronger so you don't need to buy the optional alloy knuckles that you need on the other cars) and the 2 degree toe-in rear hubs are also standard. AND...it includes wheel bearings too so you only need to buy a few for the transmission.
That's it, as simple as that.
SWB? MWB? LWB? The thing that loads of people seem to really struggle with is the varying wheelbases of the cars. So, for the first time in pictorial form, here it is!
210mm (SWB) on top. Just the chassis front and back bolted together. This is the normal Racing Rover Mini Cooper kit.
225mm (MWB) in the middle. The exact same front and rear chassis with the extender piece from the 51238 F parts tree. This is the standard Suzuki Swift Kit.
240mm (LWB) down the bottom. Same front and rear chassis again, this time with the long extender piece. This is the standard Mini Cooper kit

Well...offered $160, and the guy really politely told me to **** off. Auction ended at 186.38 shipped. After ebay, paypal, and whoever he uses to ship get their cut, its only going to be a few dollars difference.
Oh well, cant win em all.

MIGHT have a mini by Sunday. Dont be suprised if I dont.
Along the same lines, if I end up with a tourer, its because I bought it for electronics. Its official now, I'm going to leave that class alone for the forseeable future (unless Serpent comes out with an affordable TC)
Then back to truggies near the end of the year, woot. Hopefully this one will survive bumping into a lightpole.
