Unofficial Cole & Rita Palen Free-Flight Memorial Meet
June 3, 2006 - Red Hook High School - 8:00 a.m. to ???
News Flash!
Hi Everyone,
June 3 will soon be here.have you started building something for the FF
Meet yet? Last December we had a good number of participants.this time
around it appears that we will have even more. Some of the new models we
can expect to see in June include a British racing Cramwell CLA 3 (!), a
Guillow's Rufe Seaplane, two Beech Staggerwings, A 1931 Primary Glider, a
Vari-Viggen, a few additional Piper Cubs and profile Ryan NYPs, two or
three new Fokker D.VIIs (Matt King's and Peter Truesdell's Fokkers
inspired a few people!), an Avro 504 (maybe), Ken's enlarged version of
his Competitor, a Dumas Eindecker scaled up 200% a Great Lakes, my
Schutte Lanz D.III (if I can get it to fly by then), as well as a few
others. Don't forget to let me know what you are going to bring so I can
mention it here in the news updates.
This weekend I hope to get together with Matt King to take a look at the
flying field that we will be using at the High School. The event will
creep up on us quickly so we'll have to start getting organized now.
This time around I'd like to set up a few committees to get things
rolling. The following is a list of the main committees that we'll need
some help with. If you can spare just a little time and are interested
in helping out, please get in touch with me or Matt:
Committees:
1) Proxy flyer Committee
2) Trophy building Committee
3) Timers and Judges Committee
4) Sign Committee
5) Food Committee
6) Help/Information station Committee
Call or Email if you'd like to help with any of these committees.
We can also look forward to some apple brownies and raspberry bars on the
dessert table!
