What is the racing surface? I assume it is asphalt. Is the traction good, or is the finish shiny and slippery like the HobbyTown track in Crystal Lake?.
How large is the layout in approximate feet (length x width).
DarkSavage

Well yes its on asphalt and you get good grip for monster trucks, Onroad cars you loose rear traction alot but thats when root beer on the track starts coming on.
Well i dont know how big it is but its decent size for monster trucks to run on.
Kinda gets ghetto with the lap counting machine sometimes but they work it out.

I called and they said open practice @ 10 to 12. There were no topic in RCtech.net about HTSC. Most were from Al's and Leisure. I got the info from a person from HTSC. Actually, we will bring TC and 1/10 235 for practice. I will see there. I cannot wait to race again.
Hope this helps..

You guys are so NOT ready untill I SAY SO.....I AM GOD...(ha ha, just messing with you guys)...
Ok...track should be like 60x 120 (my wild guess)...and according from HTSC, they are racing at the FRONT of the store (instead of the rear where the loading dock is...)
If they spray root beer....I think there should be plent of traction there, when I was running someone's RTR NTC3 last year with almost zero foam left foam tires (guess who's RTR NTc3 was that..) the track have plenty of traction there...so, no need to worry.
Track is TIGHT, SMALL, so 1-way and tall gears are TOTALLY WASTE of time. Try full time 4WD or with front solid. High end engine is another waste (Joe, you should save your JP at Leisure or IRP.) I had quite a lot of power with a RTR nTC3 stock pully engine...all I need are foams and some shocks adjustment, almost anything or everything are very much the same speed.
Anyhow, count down begin....5 days left. See ya all there...I will be there marshalling and provide all the necessary trash talking.

I really hate to say this. Friday and Sunday does not look good. Chances of rain on Saturday is really small. Hopefully nothing happened on that day.

Mapquest, Yahoo or even Google can show you how to get there...HTSC in inside a shopping mall, when you get into the parking lot you should see or hear some nitro engine and RC car running around, you won't miss it since they are now running IN FRONT of their store, not behind their store.
P.S...HTSC, I think you guys need to hire me to run the race...since I cannot race, I wish at least I can run the race....

No....not for IRP, for your 4 I will definitely try the tight rear and 1-way as a starter (per your 4's spec)....IRP is easiler 4 times as big as HTSC, for me, it is considered MID-LARGE track (for your reference, it is WIDER then revelation over CA but a little shorter...) IRP track is kinda square but I heard SHANE is reconfogire the track to make it more like a real track this time...
Looking forward to....and yes, you can put your JP back on the IRP if you have the bearing issue figured. But the question is....IRP on-road open next week..? You think...? :D

wassup man.
they had stock electric rtr, mod electric, monster truck and 200mm nitro which had the biggest turnout (10 entrants at first).
i forgot my extra tires at home so i was working with 42 fronts and 40 rears which i think is good because they resprayed the track with a root beer solution that gave it plenty of bite after letting it sit.
i was geared too high though on the first gear because i had no accelaration coming out of turns like the other guys - the track was too small for the ratio i was trying to pull - bring your smaller gears to this track. ;)
i managed to get second in the a-main but that was mainly because i was doing consistant laps. my average lap time was toward the bottom of the pack. the R40 really showed its weight because other cars were bouncing off of me. i flipped once and that was because i was t-boned by the one other R40 which broke the tab on my brand new digital steering servo.
they ran a really organized race. the only complaint i have is that the drivers stand only holds 5 adult men

Sounds like a great rece day!! With that kind of traction you can talk in terms of snap off the corners!! ;)
I've set up a lower gearing combo for short track action ensuring that I can shift into second gear within 30 ft of hard acceleration. :D

That day went quick, and I really wanted to race. Inspite of all the hassels I forgot my starter box, scattered showers, and really slick pave, the day turned out to be great. I had a blast the whole qualifying and the main. My thirst of racing had a mist that day. I believe its time to open new .12 motors, get ready my 8th and 235 to IRP or leisure when they open. I just realized that IRP is not that far on where I live. HTSC would be great practice track (tight). However, its time to get ready on a huge track to open some more throttle.HTSC's Racers were freindly and helpful, it was a quite of an experience..
