Guys -
I got my ESC back. This is the best thing I have ever ran. So smooth and love it. I am running on 12 cells at the moment. This think won't stop doing wheelies. LOL

I love this thing!@ :D :)

I have LiPo's to try next. Maybe this weekend or next week will get to do so.

You're gonna love LiPo! That is, assuming that you maintain them properly. Do you happen to recall the software version number on your older Mtroniks Truck that was replaced? If it was v1.05, then it isn't too surprising that it died.

No I do not. How do you tell which version you are running?

I bought a 2nd ESC for my Hyper 7 PBS buggy.

It says near the programming pins which version you have. Your replacement should be either v1.07 or 1.07b. My replacement (for a v1.05) is a v1.07.

Thanks -
The ones I have now say 1.07 on them. Cool. Runs like a champ. I put the wheels from the OFNA Stadium truck they have on it with the 17mm wheel adapters. Last night I used easy off oven cleaner to get rid of the blue anodizing on the wheel adapters.

Im using the same motor and speedo (with a 4S 8000) in my MRC Thunder King now.
For some reason it drives way better and has more power than the BK 9920 controller. The acceleration isnt even comparable, i can wheelie a lot easier now. Truck controller drives way smoother has a lot more punch and top speed. I haven't had a hint of cogging(i had some issues with the 9920). Props to Mtroniks. Only problem is that my motor and controller get kind of hot.

After Ten minutes of run time:
Motor: ~200
Controller: ~175

The 9920 ran a lot cooler and the motor stayed cooler too.

This is a great setup, as some of you may remeber I was well impressed with it a few weeks ago. Does have heat issues though, if you run it long enough.

Since then I've picked up a 9XL to run on 16 cells, but I was doing some testing on 12 cells today, it feels like it has the same overall power as the 8L, but it runs cooler. More torque for sure, but it revs out a lot quicker, less top speed. The power seems to come in a rush and then its gone as well. Used it with a 9920, not tried it on my Mtroniks, probably won't either till they come out with a higher voltage model.

This things is a blast. The 8L is a lot of power on 12 cells for this little truck. I have seen posts where people have ran 14 cells with the 8L motor. I couldn't imagine.

The motor does get a bit hot though. I am using the stock pinions that were off the brushed motors from the EMaxx. The ESC so far has been cool, just the motor getting hot.

The stock gearing works very nicely with that motor :) I wouldn't want to run it on 14 cells though for fear of the magnets loosing strength due to heat, or the bearings going bad.
